What can I say about this company?? I found the whole process very pushy and all about money. That is they will do and say anything to make a sale but when the money is in their bank they are impossible to deal with. I had a salesman offer me a 40% discount of their initial terms with a deal they had on at the time and he quoted me the price of a brand new kitchen to replace a few doors and a splashback and then he offered a further discount to get the deal. At the time he was there, I thought I was getting a good deal but then I called a local tradesman who's known to be expensive but his work is impeccable to come out and quote me before the '7' day cooling off period was complete who smashed their 'discounted' quote of the water and as such I cancelled the deal and went to my local supplier. Trying to get a refund off them though for 50% of the quote was almost impossible. I was told several times I'd receive the cheque in the post and nothing arrived. They took payment off my credit card immediately but couldn't refund it, it had to be by snail mail.
I also continued to ask my local supplier a range of questions about the kitchen I though I wanted but he advised me of all the issues I would have e.g. high gloss worksurfaces that the kitchen restoration company said wouldn't scratch, do scratch very easily and cannot be repaired. He even demonstrated it to me to show how bad they are, it seemed the sales guy at the Kitchen Restoration company would have said anything to me to get the deal. After all he was on commission for it....
Also when I compared the quality of the doors/handles/sinks etc. that I was paying less for locally against what the Kitchen Restoration company brought out I realised they were offering cheap material at ridiculous prices.
It just really annoyed me that they try and pull the wool over your eyes and take payment immediately but when you want to cancel, you have to do everything in writing and use registered mail (which they don't respond to anyway to let you know they've received your cancellation). The whole process reminded me never to trust anyone who can knock 50% off their initial prices to make a deal!! conmen these guys.
I had 2 salesman call on me at my request and both were very pleasant and knew their products. Very courteous and although their job was obviously to sell (they are salesmen) I didn't feel pressured. I signed up on the day. After thinking about it my wife and I felt we'd actually like to see the product in situ so decided we'd make the trip to the showroom in Birmingham as soon as we can. I called to cancel in cooling off period and while disappointed, the salesman was again courteous and professional. The cancellation was processed quickly and I received a full refund by cheque 2 weeks after the initial sales. I've not yet used them for the product but they are certainly not out of the running following on from my initial contact. If I do proceed I'll be asking a few questions about the qualifications of the fitters and ensuring the finish of the product is good as well as after sales service.
We had a home visit yesterday by 'designer' Simon who was a very charming gentleman who talked us through the various options that were available for refurbishing our kitchen. After writing down our choices he gave us a price, which shortly afterwards was reduced by £1000 provided that we sign up there and then.
When we told him that we were not prepared to decide there and then, he immediately changed from a very charming gentleman into a spoilt child, making for the door and saying that he was not prepared to waste any more time. He said that potential clients who did not sign immediately never came back to do so.
He refused to answer any further questions and left. Do not ask this company for a home visit unless you are prepared to comit to their product immediately as they are pure hard sell.
We have never come accross this situation before, but have seen similar things on programmes such as Watchdog.
My rating would be no stars but, unfortunately, that option was not available. Go with this company if you want the hard sell to begin with, quickly followed by shocking aftersales services and rudeness. To be fair, our kitchen was completed very quickly but, 1 month later we are still waiting for someone to come round to look at the snagging - kicker boards are not high enough so the gap between boards and bottom of doors is very visible, the light pelmet on one side is marked and has been fitted skew, there is a large gap between 2 of the doors (cream) so that the dark wood of our original frame is clearly visible. Our first follow up appointment was cancelled on the same day as the fitter had apparently phoned in sick. Another appointment was made for Friday that week (after 6pm because I work) and the fitter phoned me that morning to say that he would not be coming round after 6 because it was a Friday! We have now been told that we have to wait another 3 weeks before another fitter can visit, we can't get the name of the operations manager and keep being told that he will phone us back, but he is never in the office. I can see that they will employ this tactic until we eventually give up phoning - it is handy for them that they are in Birmingham and we are on the South Coast, so can't just pop in in person to see the operations manager. However, I will ensure that this review is posted on every possible review site so, hopefully, no other people will make the same mistake we made in trusting this company.
I would not recommend this company, AT ALL, not to my worst enemy.
The fitter was meant to show up between 8:30 and 9am on the 8th of October.He did not get there till 10....when he arrived he had an issue with his van, so called the company they use to repair their vans.After a couple hours the van repair guy turned up and said that they would have to take away his van around 4pm.
At this stage not much work had been completed, and I understand things happen that are beyond our control. However the fitter through no fault of his own duly announced to my wife that he had spoken to his boss who said come back tomorrow.Hold on! no one contacted us to enquire if tomorrow would be suitable. We already arranged affairs for this day, let the kids stay at their grand parents, cancelled appointments and now we were expected to be available tomorrow!
So my wife who was present called up the company to let them know of the issue and inconvenience this presented. She was fobbed off and asked to contact the manager, who only the fitter had the phone number for because it was his personal mobile, the fitter did not want to give this up.
In the end the Manager called my wife. She asked what were they going to do about this issue, he took it as my wife was expecting some sort of discount or money off and then began to berate to the extent where he called her a thief. My wife was shocked and called me. During the call to me it became apparent that he then called the fitter and told him to pack up and walk off the job. In the end he came a day after and finished the job. Disgraceful!!!
I would nor recommend them to anyone.i was told it would take two days to complete and it ende up taking six. On the first day half the kitchen was nearly completed but the fitter had a bad back. No one appeared on second day and I had to phone the Co where I I was told they were not coming and they had no replacement fitter. I had had the gas disconnected that morning and it should have been reconnected later that day but because of the expense with British Gas I changed the switch on until the Monday so I was without gas all week-end. Still nobody came on Monday so Imwas without gas again. On Tuesday another fitter arrived who did some work but left me with no sink and no water in the kitchen.
When you phone the Co the receptionist is quite off hand and will not let you speak to the Operations Manager. Their Customer Service is non existent. The fitter did not screw my dishwasher back properly and it nearly fell out when I was emptying it. They will not come back to fix it. It is not cheap to have their service and I did manage to get a little discount for my inconvenience but they were not happy in doing so. They have also cracked some tiles. I have had to give them 1 star but really would prefer to give them none.
I'm very glad that I hadn't read the poor reviews on this site (few of which have anything to do with workmanship or service) before going ahead. We decided that a replacement kitchen for our 1980 one was too expensive and went for the next best thing - new work tops plus cupboard doors. The salesman (Stuart) was polite and knowledgeable and subjected us to NO pressure whatsoever; the surveyor worked quickly and efficiently and an appointment was made for the fitting less than a fortnight later. The very pleasant and polite fitter (Darren) came all the way from Birmingham to Ipswich both days and worked quickly and very efficiently, completing the refurbishment in just over a day and a half (worktops, 19 custom made cupboard doors and 6 drawer fronts). From contacting the company in the first instance to the completion of the installation took a total of only four weeks! The kitchen now looks absolutely stunning and we would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this company.
We initially placed an order and then cancelled the order the following day over the phone and in writing. There is obvioulsy a law in place to protect consumers. We paid on credit card and instructed the bank to take this up. The Kitchen Restoration company have delayed sending the money back to the bank sighting all sorts of reasons. It is so unprofessional. We cancelled the order due to my illness and the issues with the money refund have just added further stress. Disgrace
Just phoned this company to try and book an appointment. I mentioned that I lived with my boyfriend and they insisted that he needed to be present before I could confirm my order.I explained that:a) he did not have any ownership or entitlement to the property; and b) he is in Asia working for a few months and would not be able to make a day time appointment in any case.They still would not let me book an appointment and I found the service extremely rude. This policy is insane as my boyfriend does not even live with me on a permanent basis and has his own property.Truly disgusted with the treatment I received.

Our fitter Allan worked tirelessly and managed to fit 27 doors and draws in less than 5 hours, the results were amazing and our kitchen was transformed.The only hiccup was one door was missing but was replaced within the promised time.
A Salesman was very quick to come and quote for new doors and drawer fronts for our kitchen, after the hard sell and deposit paid I was happy and excited that I would have a new kitchen. The first fitter arrived and was very pleasant and hardworking, but told me that some of the kitchen drawers and doors were missing, so if i could pay the remaining balance, fitters would be out in 5 working days to finish the job. I paid the balance stupidly and then waited 4 weeks for the fitters to return, supposedly on the Wednesday, didn't arrive, I called customer service 5 times to be told they would come Friday, the fitter was ill! so would come the following Wednesday. When he arrived at 6.30pm he had the wrong doors and no panel for a worktop so would have to come back.
The men that do the initial fitting of the kitchens are very good, but the rest is shocking, do not use this company i wish i hadn't.
Whilst this company did an excellent job at a good price a sour taste has been left. Kitchen fitted 16th April 2012 with the exception of one door which had been made the wrong size. Stupidly I put my trust in the company having received very good service, and paid by cheque, after the signed customer satisfaction sheet was marked 'door to be fitted in 5-10 days'. An appointment was made for the fitter to return on 26th April only for him to ring twice on the day with excuses and cancel the call totally. Having telephoned 2nd & 3rd May I can't even get a re-scheduled date - only promises of a call back (which don't seem to materialise). Watch this space ..................
I spoke with them today and had the same treatment as previous reviewers, a refusal to book an appointment unless my husband could be present. The original lady could not elaborate on this policy or explain the rational and passed me on to the MD who was extremely rude, talked over me and eventually hung up. Don't expect this dinosaur of a business will be able to keep going in a recession with this crazy attitude to customers. My husband point blank refuses to be sold to and leaves all house negotiations to me, plus I am paying, so they have lost out on a decent sale here. I shall also be reporting their discrimination and sexism to the ASA as they certainly don't highlight this 'policy' in their advertising and there are laws against this sort of thing!
My wife and I decided that our kitchen required modernising. We contacted Kitchen Restoration, and promptly received a brochure. We arranged a meeting with the sales rep, who was very pleasant and knew his products. If I had a concern, it was the pressure to sign up immediately. We were offered a substantial discount, and paying on the credit card I knew we had security for payment.
The next day I read the reviews on this site, and was extremely concerned. I spoke with the MD, Mr Pullinger, who I found very re-assuring. We had a very prompt installation by Richard, who was superb. A real craftsman who takes great pride in his work. Would recommend that you ask for him on any installation.
The end result is fantastic!! We are so impressed, that we are having a breakfast bar installed by them, with Richard doing the work.
Excellent products, superb workmanship, at a very reasonable price.
i found the company was very good they did every think i asked them to do the finish was very good i would recomend them to any one
