Advantages: none

Disadvantages: terrible customer service

I had some unplesant dealings with this company back in 2007 in September.
I had contacted them when if I am right when they were called 'Kitchen Magic' I had arranged my second appointment with them because they missed the first one. A very pleasant looking young woman came to explain the in's and out's of what they were all about, then came the price £3000 approx. I had was then convinced that this was the best price that i would get it for and that if I wanted a kitchen at that price I should hand over a £600 deposit. I 'm afraid I did not read the contract closely enough but I was shocked to find out that there was no cooling off period, and when I had refused to pay the balance I was constantly hounded. I feel like I have had a lucky escape although I lost a large sum of money.

Summary: No cooling off period

You may find that the lack of cooling off period was because you contacted them and invited them to your house. I think that the cooling off period applies to 'cold callers'. I may be wrong. I agree with Charris though - take legal advice, Susan

I think that you should get the contract/papers you signed checked out carefully. I did think that anything like this was legally obliged to have a cooling-off period. Alternatively, if you were pressured/persuaded into signing, then please take legal advice before you write your cash off.
