      looks fab!

      Putting your own personal touches on a house can be hard. We all shop at the same places; Barker and stonehouse, B & Q, Laura Ashley for example and it is hard to decorate without it looking like everyone else's. I am really into a tv show called, May The Best House Win and it just demonstrates how many houses are decorated in a shabby chic style. I have tried to find things that are different for my home, but I still want my house to feel homely.

      A big part of personalising your home will come from the art work you choose and I love art. I love drifting through art galleries and taking in all the beautiful pictures. Some of the most loveliest images I have comes across have found their way into my home in the form of reproduction canvases and prints. I was looking on the internet for a print of the Chinese Girl by Vlarimir Tretchikoff and I could not find one that was the right size. I wanted a large picture and to be quite honest, I did not want the harshness of a glass frame. I was mainly looking for a canvas which has a much softer appearance and they are easier to hang! Suddenly, I fell upon a website selling beautiful wall hangings and they had the Chinese girl picture that I coveted. I bought one and now it is one of my most favourite pieces in my home.

      ==Price and availability==

      The wall hangings vary in price and it depends whether you are wanting a famous image or something that an unknown artist has cobbled together. The Chinese Girl can be bought in different sizes too and the prices are as follows: 100 x 125 cm costs £255, 120 x 150 costs £315 and the largest of 140 x 180 cm costs £390. All the fittings are included in the price and the site I bought from sends them for free.

      ==Description==

      The Wall Hangings are impeccable quality and I was so impressed with mine. Each image is printed as soon as soon as you order it so the colours are fresh and crisp. The fabric they use is 100% natural and they even go as far as using low carbon emission reactive dyes, giving excellent colour vibrancy and 'rub fastness' and they are also the best for the environment. Each line and shading is flawless with bright vivid colours that stand so striking on the fabric.

      The fabric used is cotton hopsack which has a relaxed natural weave with a fluid soft finish and it falls so well and remains flat and uncurled. The fabric is dense which allows the inks to hold without looking plastic and the whole finished image looks like it is painted on, rather than printed. The wall hanging comes with a free aluminium pole and fitting kit so you can fasten it up. This cannot be seen though the fabric so it has a very soft, very pleasant appearance.

      ==Hanging==

      Hanging can be a tricky process but if you have the right tools then you will not go too far wrong. The aluminium rail is light which is good so you do not need very heavy duty equipment. The rail that is supplied is 100 mm shorter than the canvas which ensures that you can not see it when the fabric is loaded on the rail. I much prefer this effect as it creates a much more serene and softer finish to the room. You will need a spirit level to mark where you want the wall hanging. You will then need to make some small holes in the wall. Luckily, there are some pre built holes in the rail so you can draw through these in order to ensure you have lined up holes. You will then need to screw the rail in place and then slide the rod in place. It is much easier to do it this way than load the hanging on the rod and screw the whole thing onto the wall! The final job is sliding the wall hanging on the rod, and tadah!

      ==The print==

      The image I chose is created so brilliantly. The picture if you are unfamiliar with it is of a young and very attractive Chinese woman's face. The background is soft and golden with the face replicated in perfect details. The colours are bright and there is something so captivating by this picture. I love it. The softness of the fabric gives the room a really warm feeling and it looks very different but so perfect. The fabric really does make the room feel cosy and warmer. I want loads more of these now! I bought the smallest size and I wish I went for the larger one as it looks a little lost on the big wall, however I am really pleased with it still and the way it hangs looks so good.

      ==Overall==

      This was much easier to hang than I thought but what I would say is, do not try and put your own holes in the aluminium rail, use the ones provided. We felt we needed extra and caused the rail to buckle. The instructions said you can do this however it just did not work out very well for us. The holes provided will suffice and do the job. The thick fabric is luxurious and very good quality, it hangs so well and falls flat against the wall. There is plenty of weight to it and the richness of the colours all add to its final appeal. I recommend the wall hangings, they look good and they are a little bit different.
