Welcome to a World of Wind Chimes Well, maybe not a world, though my garden is certainly a mini eco-system in itself, and when I’m sitting out there, with the trees and the sunlight and the smell of earth and damp leaves and late blooming sweet peas, it feels as though I am in a different world. I have read that wind chimes are good for keeping chi moving...don't ask me to explain what chi is but it should keep moving...and for warding off badness. Windchimes should be placed near the front door, especially if your house faces another house. If your oven faces your back door, place windchimes between them. I apologise if this is in the wrong catergory but, we're in love with our set of Japanese wind chimes. We find them so relaxing and calming, this seemed the most harmonious place for them! If you ever wander past a shop and see loads of wind chimes stop and buy one immediately! I was looking around for a little present for my girlfriend and came across a shop selling wind chimes. Nothing beats sitting in my garden on a hot day with a gentle breeze and listening to my wind chimes. I've got five of them scattered all around my garden. I I much prefer the wooden sound I find it so much more relaxing than the metal ones. When you are go into the shop to purchase these chimes do make sure you listen to each one. Although they come in all different shapes and sizes two chimes that look identical will sound different I believe that to be dependant on the lengths of string for each chime and the ringer. Wind chimes are part of traditional Chinese philosophy. They are supposed to keep the chi, or possitive energy flowing through you home. The exact positioning of them is worked out by using feng shui charts. There again, you may just wish to stick them up beside a window or door, where there's a light breeze to make them tinkle, (after much consideration I chose this method....LOL).
