I bought a dog bed on-line and it arrived within reasonable timescales. I removed it from the plastic cover to inspect the quality, I didn't feel this was unreasonable. It was too small and not as good quality as the dog bed that I have already albeit a couple of years old so I phoned the customer service number to get a RAN number - very old fashioned!
I then returned the parcel at a cost to me of £7.06, also unusual. Most other stores would let you return for free.
I then received a call to say that they would not accept the return because I had removed it from the plastic cover and it had a few dog hairs on it. I assured the caller that the dog had not touched it, in fact my husband had even lint rolled it just in case....hello!! we have a dog, it lives in our house - doh!

Apparently it is not in a re-saleable condition because it has been taken out of the plastic, despite the fact that it was put back in the same plastic and returned. Who would buy an item without taking it out of the packaging - ridiculous!! Again, other retailers would not find this unacceptable.
So, I now have a dog bed that I can't use and have to pay £19.99 for it PLUS I'm out of pocket for the £7.06 RETURN FEE at the post office.
Would I buy from The Range again? - absolutely not! Would I recommend it to my friend? - absolutely not! Would I go to Dunelm-mill instead? ohhhh yes!
