Advantages: Fairly quick response to complaint
Disadvantages: Doesn't make you want to return to the store again
I recently visited my local range store and experienced a very rude member of staff. I was trying to exchange some goods I had bought not 10 minutes prior and the staff member was being very unhelpful and made me feel like I was trying to conn or steal from them because I couldn't find my receipt, lectured me on the fact I didn't leave my newly purchased goods at customer services desk because I wanted to exchange them (despite the fact at the time I hadn't decided to purchase anything else to exchange them with until I had look at the other products!) and generally made me feel very stressed (not good when your 7 months pregnant!)
Eventually I managed to get a refund/exchange of my goods and left the store. I wrote a letter of complaint to The Range Head office. About a month later I received a call from my local store manager saying they had addressed the issue with the staff member, apologised and hoped I would return to shop in their store. The man I spoke to was understanding and agreed with my complaint. It might take a while for me to return to their store but at least they acknowledged my complaint and addressed it within a month of writing.
Summary: Customer service needs to be improved in the The Range stores.
