Advantages: If you need a laugh, go and exchange/refund at customer service, you will not be dissapointed.

Disadvantages: You run the risk of being accused of stealing when going to customer service,

Ten minutes after purchasing a table lamp at the IPSWICH branch of the THE RANGE I realised I needed scew type bulbs, I returned to the store and on entering immediately gave the lamp I had just purchased to the same assistant who had sold it to me. I explained to her that I needed bulbs she informed me they were on the first floor, ( I left the lamp with her at customer services) a very kind gentleman gave me a set of two bulbs and advised me to ask the assistant to take them out of the pack and to try them in the lamp to make certain they were the correct ones.

On his advise I took them to the assistant and repeated what the gentleman had said, she opened the packet and said " I HOPE YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR THESE" I replied " only if they fit that's why we are trying them" once it was established that they were the correct bulbs I duly paid for them. As I went to remove my previous purchase of the lamp from the counter she asked to see the receipt, I questioned why as I had not requested a refund, she said " I HAVE TO MAKE CERTAIN THAT YOU PAID FOR IT" I said " so you think I have stolen it" and reminded her that she had just witnessed me entering the store with it. On realising that by this time she had a captive audience and was making pointless statements I was very tempted to say I had not got the receipt, but I took pity on the poor woman and produced it, much to the amusement of other customers who had witnessed the whole procedure.

I fully understand why, that in certain circumstances a receipt is required, but surely there are times when common sense must prevail.

I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST TO MANAGEMENT OF THE RANGE IN IPSWICH THAT THEY INVEST IN MORE
TIME IN TRAINING THEIR STAFF. THE MAIN SUBJECT BEING COMMON SENSE, AND POSSIBLY TACT AND DIPLOMACY. Although I do believe you have to have a minimum of the former in order to enhance their performance. Good Luck with the training.

Summary: I will do my best to avoid shopping at the Range.
