British Gas HomeCare: ... bought a house with lukewarm radiators. After bleeding them and trying other home remedies, we felt we had to call in the professionals. I had lots of doubts about geting a homecare agreement with British Gas. However, we did not know any good local plumbers and British Gas seemed like a safe option. The British Gas engineer recommended a Powerflush at a cost of almost £800.00 to which we agreed. I did wor...

MrsLim More Than Home Insurance
... ve been with MoreThan for home insurance (building and contents) for 2 years. My husband is the second account holder on this policy which, from reading the other reviews, is a good idea otherwise the reps at MoreThan will not speak to you. There are cheaper insurance policies out there but we wanted one with a good rep (or rather a rep large enough so it "shouldn t" be problematic should we need to claim). The time came to claim when we were burgled in the house (whilst asleep upstairs) but as the cat disturbed the burglar, nothing was stolen but damage was done to the patio door. This happened at 4am on a Sunday morning and after the police came and went...

JHWilts Direct Line
... there is one company or service that will really make me react in a negative way it is Direct Line. I inherited the house from my dad who took insurance from Direct Line and just decided to continue with them as I had no real reason to question - he had made several small claims over the years (contents not buildings and there lies the rub) and they appeared to be ok. They were courteous and efficient with their service in transferring the policy, every year I could renew automatically (although I regularly questioned the rates for new versus existing customers however they tended to assist with that and offer me the competitive rate) and everything seemed to tick al...

donnagar British Gas HomeCare
... took out British Homecare for my boiler as it had a mind of it s own. Sometimes the heating wouldn t come on and it drove me mad so i thought i ll get it insured because i wouldn t be able to afford a new boiler. Anyway the service was good overall, they came out and serviced my boiler to start with then i had to call them out because it wasn t working properly. That was fixed and i was happy. I was paying £13 a month then they called me to ask if i wanted to include all my radiators and pipework for an extra £5 so i agreed. Then i went on moneysavingexpert.com and noticed other insurers were insuring boilers for a cheaper price, so i called british gas and said that...
