British Gas HomeCare ... cancel the extra payment because the "account wasnt in my name!!!" I was on the phone everyday for about a month and in the end cancelled my direct debit and got my bank to do a recall for the last month which they really kindly did (NAtwest-absolute stars!!) I then paid the remainder as a lump sum, Feb my boiler went and I have been calling and calling but according to them "im no longer a customer coz ive settled up" and I cant speak to a manager but someone will call me back in 48 hours which they never do!!! Im close to tears with them!!! my boiler keeps going off, sometimes in the middle of the night and parents wake up freezing cold!!! and the s... British Gas HomeCare ... package over using a local plumber. Six visits, three different engineers, four days holiday lost, two cancelled appointments, four 'special order' parts waited for (one sent to my home address when I obviously wasn't there) and I'm still showering in the gym and hiding in pubs to avoid a freezing flat. The engineers are pleasant enough - and equally disparaging of BG managers/suitably demoralised - but customer service is non-existent. You'd have more luck getting through to them with a seance. And the dead would probably be far less patronising and off-hand. If you simply have to sign up for one of our country's 'great' institutions, I'd suggest the Royal Marines.... More Than Home Insurance ... was promised a call back after the weekend to sort, nothing materialised, the 57 quid was returned several days later but not before i'd sent the policy back in the post, closed off the DD Mandate and told them that the companies customer service was shoddy to say the least... thought nothing of it until i got latest bank statement, i'd been hammered 30.00 for an unpaid direct debit, bearing in mind that i had set the policy up for 28th each month (as paid on 27th) makes sense doesn't it, so what do the clowns do?
