Norwich Union Direct:
... year ago I took out mortgage protection policy and I had an accident last year. I had to phone twice to get the claim form and then it cost me £20 for the doctor to complete. I was off work 4 months with a broken wrist. My claim was continually rejected as they insisted I had no income for the last year, as I was self-employed, and my business made a financial loss. Income was just below vat threshhold, but I had s... Read the full review: Norwich Union : Trust them at your peril !!! by madmax |

When we reported the incident we kept having to chase the complaint with no one returning our calls. One of their so called managers came to our house and implied that we made bogus claims on an every other day basis. The outcome of it all is that British Gas said "claim on your household insurance". Its a good job we have accidental damage cover even though it is going to cost £100 excess. As well as this BG told us that we would need a new boiler which tghey provided a very top heavy quote for ... Read the full review: Homecare Damages Your House and Bank Account by Dave |

British Gas HomeCare ... had this Homecare 400 also and the very first guy that came round insisted that i buy a powerflush to get one of my radiators heating at the top. Few days later my uncle told me to top up the pressure in my system which i did and hey presto radiator working great! They are as bad as the rest of the companies out there. A few months ago i went into bmw to get my temp gauge and fuel gauge sorted as they were not working. Told i needed a part from germany at 170 pounds and a 2 hour job at around another 80 pounds(all in it was something like 300). I phoned a local mechanic and he said i had that problem before can you go into you fuse box and change the fuse. I did t... Read the full review: ALL A BIG CON IN THIS COUNTRY by STU |

British Gas HomeCare ... have had a Homecare Agreement with British Gas for a number of years. The Central Heating Boiler installed since occupation in July 2001 was a Powermax . I will now list a summary of events which occurred from October 2008 to the present time. ON SATURDAY 4th OCTOBER 2008 BOILER STOPPED WORKING AND LOCKED OUT. ATTEMPTS TO RESTART DID NOT WORK. I PHONED HOMECARE 400 THAT AFTERNOON AND WAS TOLD AN ENGINEER WOULD CALL ANYTIME ON MONDAY 6TH OCTOBER 2008. ON MONDAY 6TH OCTOBER, ENGINEER MANAGED TO RE-START BOILER AND STATED WE NEEDED A NEW BALL VALVE IN THE HEADER TANK IN LOFT. HIS RETURN DATE WAS GIVEN AS THURSDAY 9TH. HE MANAGED TO RESTART THE BOILER BUT 2 HOURS LATER ... Read the full review: HOMECARE engineer drills into hot boiler casing by Plizo |
