We had to make a claim a few months ago for a new stair carpet as our dog destroyed it!. I had checked our policy and was pleased to see that we had pet cover for damage so I made the claim. The adviser on the phone basically told me that we could claim on this occasion but they would not cover us if it happened again. 	Lloyds TSB insuredirect ... ve insured my home through these guys for a number of years and have also claimed after I lost some roof tyles. I think they are very good, in particular : - the standard of their advisors over the telephone is better than others - the web site is easy to use - they offer a panel of insurers and so shop round for you but can intervene on your behalf if you think the insurer is not giving you good service - they are competitive - you can buy them through Quidco and so get cash back When I made a claim I have to say I was impressed. 	Norwich Union Direct ... Union - Quote me happy! Yeah Right! Have been a holder of Norwith Union Home Insurance for some time, it is an all singing and dancing policy, the best you can buy, old for new policy with accidental damage. Home undergoing renovation, new kitchen, new boiler, new flooring. Lifted leather sofa outside whilst floor being laid and then again whilst cleaning dust from kitchen work.
