I was a member of AAA in the USA, so living back in England, I became a member of the sister company AA. It was money well spent. As a female driver who knows NOTHING (nor cares to, really) this is a MUST! In my first year of membership, I had to call them out twice - not a problem. The second time was sheer stupidity on my part, but the guy still treated me courteously and tried hard not to make me feel like a fool. AA home insurance...more like a rip off...Received letter stating that after searching their providers they were pleased to offer renewal for £201 for our building insurance, using current supplier Zurich. out of interest went online to Zurich..£142..direct line..£162...AA home site..£128... I done a quote online with the AA @ www.aa.co.uk The price I thought was good so I thought I would contact them via the telephone to confirm and get more details on the policy benefits. We have just signed up to AA insurance for both buildings and contents cover for our house. As we are AA breakdown members, we get a discount on insurance and it seems to be an absolutely huge one. The AA buildings insurance that we were offered was over £100 cheaper than anyone else we tried. We did work out why this was; most insurance comapnies offer unlimited cost (actually up to 1 million) of re-building your house. Most people don't need that kind of cover.
