After arriving home from holiday recently,we were devastated to realise that we had been burgled. In some ways we were fortunate that the thieves had broken into the back door, grabbed a few things and left without searching through all our belongings or causing additional damage. However it was still a very upsetting experience, particularly as all my personal jewellery including engagement ring, eternity ring and twenty first birthday ring had gone. Just in case you are curious, I did not take them on holiday because after 30years they no longer fit me. Anyway, we are insured with Axa Direct because they provided us with the cheapest quote, we were about to discover if cheap meant not as good. Within half an hour of ringing Axa the back door was being repaired by a tradesman that they sent, he actually arrived before the police which I thought was brilliant. The replacement door was delivered and fitted two days later,all ordered and paid for by the insurance company. We were contacted the day after the burglary to arrange replacement electrical items and within a week I had a account at a local jewellers to replace my jewellery. All in all the service was absolutely excellent and although we would obviously have preferred it not to have happened no firm could have dealt with the claim in a speedier or more sensitive manner. I can not sing Axa's praises highly enough and will not even be considering any other provider this year, in fact we have now also transferred our motor insurance to them.
