Advantages: none - they treat their customers like dirt

Disadvantages: surly uncaring practically useless engineers, all day appointments, rubbish customer service

23 days into boiler problem - 19/23 days WITHOUT HEAT OR HOT WATER! stuck in freezing house with all day (8-6)appointments waiting for engineers to show and NOONE rings to say that they won't be making it that day!!, no consideration given to the fact that i have a shivering 1 yr old here. 5 visits and each time they mess up - forget to order smth, order the wrong thing, find a new problem- engineers unwilling to stay long enough to finish job or have the decency to plug their brains in to solve the problem - ethos seems to be do the minimum to patch the job and then drive away quickly before it breaks again.. or in my case leave it broken, shrug their shoulders and complain about "what an annoying job this is" and walk out the door saying they'll TRY to come back tomorrow and MAYBE the part they've ordered will do the job.. truly shocking and appaling.. how can they sleep at night? i certainly can't because of the cold - i used my oven to heat the kitchen this morning.. rang up the appointments line to make a complaint and was told that they couldn't deal with it and their customer care dept would ring me.. sometime in the next 48 hours.. i couldn't ring them as no one has the number for them so the complaint gets logged on a computer system and eventually someone picks it up.. what a totally messed up and criminal way to treat people.. SHAME ON YOU BRITISH GAS!!!! SHAME!!!

Summary: British gas have left me and my 1 yr old son in a freezing hotwaterless house for 23 days!!
