Im so glad im not the only one struggling!!! I signed on with British Gas Home Care last April, after my boiler broke down as I have two parents are pensioners. After a few months, I realised they were taking 2 lots of payments out of my account, I called them up I was told I couldnt cancel the extra payment because the "account wasnt in my name!!!" I was on the phone everyday for about a month and in the end cancelled my direct debit and got my bank to do a recall for the last month which they really kindly did (NAtwest-absolute stars!!) I then paid the remainder as a lump sum, Feb my boiler went and I have been calling and calling but according to them "im no longer a customer coz ive settled up" and I cant speak to a manager but someone will call me back in 48 hours which they never do!!! Im close to tears with them!!! my boiler keeps going off, sometimes in the middle of the night and parents wake up freezing cold!!! and the sad thing is their probably going to get away with it as all these large companies do.
Any tips on how to get them to carry out their contractual obligations will be really appreciated as im at my wits end and probably just going to pay a plumber or set up an agreement with e-on
