i had bg for homecare.i called them out for annual service to gch and they told me the flue was blocked and it was not part of the service they sent transco out and they capped it and said it was dangerous. weve just paid someone else to do the flue and it turns out it was the fan instead. british gas dont want to know. ive got no heating and 2 diabled daughters and 3 children living here . they were quick enough to have my £31-00 a month for 2 years and they were in the wrong but wont admit it. i am so angry. i would NOT recommend british gas to anyone ITS ONE BIG SCAM. I phoned them a number of times and they said their system was down and i would have to phone back TOMORROW . i think if you are considering BG...................................DONT BOTHER....

Summary: THE BIGGEST LOAD OF RUBBISH I EVER WASTED MY MONEY ON

I had a similar experience 7 years ago. We had a newborn baby in the house, but despite having had the same angled gas flu from our boiler in the cellear for 20 years and having had British Gas inspect it every year they changed the regulations that year, so capped the gas supply and left us without central heating! The alternative was even more risky - being huddled over an open fire in one room using chemical-riden chipboard off-cuts from a joiners for one whole year, while we saved up to get a new boiler installed in the kitchen.

Howev er to be fair, they generally do repair and replace as promised. Its just thier rigid application of forever-updated regulations that often cause sincere discomfort.
