Advantages: HA HA HA HA HA

Disadvantages: No customer service, hides behind T&C's, rude staff the list goes on and on

My saga begins on the 24th November 2008 and is still is not sorted out I will fill you all in...
I had my boiler serviced on the Tuesday the 18th November and on the 24th of November I came home to discover that I had no heating downstairs but still upstairs so I got onto the phone and booked an engineer from the homecare service to come and have a look. Well to my horror this very grumpy man arrived the next day and that is not just me my friend was turned up later with my daughter said he was quite rude too. A few min's after he had arrived I asked him to move his van so that my friend could park on my drive well he turned around and said that he was not going to be long so he had already decided what was wrong even before he had really been in my home for 5 mins "wow" how clever he knew what to do to fix my heating. My friend arrived and the man walked passed her in the hallway and she turned to me and said 'what's his problem'. I turned to her and said he turned up like that, like it was a hassle to be in my home fixing my heating.
I pay for the Homecare 200 service which means that they would fix my heating but this doesn't cover radiators, but don't they produce the heat?
After a call to the customer service ha ha I was told someone would call me back but I only got a call back today to say I should read my T&C's and it clearly states that this is not covered, so I asked what is and this person* said the pump, but I told him that my heating is broken and needs fixing and this person* told me that I need a service not fixing. He was just hiding behind jargon and was not helpful one bit. I have never been told that I may need to have a powerflush to clean the system out and now they are telling me this is the only thing that they can do at a cost of nearly £600 but it also comes with T&C's as it could damage my pipes more and I could end up with a bill for this as well. So I am with no heating day 9 and I have a 3 year old and a 8 year old who are frozen as it is dropping to -5 at night. So my advice is DON'T EVER SIGN UP TO THIS SERVICE AS THEY DON'T DO WHAT THEY SAY ON THE TIN!!!

SAVE YOUR MONEY UP AND DO IT YOURSELF.

I bled the rads last night and got 3 of them to work and also released some air from them too there is one that is not working so there is a cleanser that you can buy from Wickes for under a £10 that could solve the problem. I will keep you all posted on how a mum of 2 with no hubby for surport (he's aboard on bussiness) fixed her problem for less them £20!!

*replace this with any word of your choice.

Summary: Save your money and use a local plumber you can trust

I hear nothing but bad reports about their service. We've just cancelled our agreement with them as our home insurance now covers the same things!

I would never go back to them. They told me my boiler was dangerous 5 years ago and terminated my contract saying it was impossible to get parts. Two local plumbers told me that was untrue and it is working fine 5 years later.
