Advantages: Blue Van
Disadvantages: They don't care
My daughter has the British Gas Home Care Service. (My wife and I stopped paying for this load of rubbish some time ago).
Back to my daughter, she is 5 months pregnant and her boiler broke down, so she arranged for British Gas to come and fix it under the scheme she is paying for. She took the day off work and then waited and waited and waited.
You can imagine the number of calls she made and was promised they would be there because just like 'Superman' the engineer was out there rescuing people in danger and all sorts but of course not those that had booked to be rescued. Anyway, at 4.30pm she was told he was stuck in traffic and wouldn't get there so she would have to book another date.
At the next appointment, he did turn up and he did do something, said it was fixed and left. It did seem to work as the boiler was lighting. Three hours later it was back to square one. A broken and out of use boiler, frustrated family, and BG booking more appointments.
Her house is freezing, she has to visit friends to shower before work and she has been let down. This is exactly what used to happen to me and my wife, so we chucked them. I'm sure this organisation, just like the Nationwide advert says, takes this sort of money to pay for the bubbly at the shareholders meetings.
The hardworking people of this country shall take their hard earned money and give it to charities like British Gas so that they can use it to abuse their customers and amuse themselves.
Summary: Find a good local plumber and pay for the call-outs.
