Advantages: While all is well you think you are covered and sleep soundly

Disadvantages: It was all just a terrible illusion. Much simpler & cheaper to hire a Corgi plumber.

I've held a Homecare200 agreement for 6 years, but am now involved in a long running dispute to persuade them to honour our contract and replace my failed radiators.

I have met with my local Trading standards (Warwickshire) a couple of times and they've been a fantastic help to me. I now have every confidence that I can take on BG and win in court.

However Trading Standards also said that if they received sufficient complaints about a company that they would consider taking the company to court themselves to protect a group of consumers.

Subsequently I would actively encourage anyone who has a complaint about a British Gas homecare contract to contact their local Trading Standards office and ask them to open a file on their case.

I got the impression that my complaint was definitely not the first they'd received. Perhaps yours will be the one that tips the balance and gets them to take action. This way everyone's a winner !

Summary: They take your money happily but will drop you rapidly if they can't turn a profit on your contract
