Advantages: excellent customer service, range of packages

British Gas Homecare is great value for money and gives you peace of mind in the current economic climate.
If you dont take this type of cover out then you can run the risk of a breakdown and call in some randoms who may take advantage.
British Gas employ their own engineers and have many more than any other company in the UK.
It is not just for emergencies but if you are worried about something or are not sure there is a problem they will send out an engineer.
You can choose from a number of different packages to suit your home's needs (fully comp ones or cheaper packages with a reasonable excess for more reliable boilers) - all homecares give you free servicing
Sales staff are very imformative and re-assuring - giving you helpful advice on what packages are available.
24 helpline incase of a problem out of normal office hours (engineers are on call incase of emergencies 24 hours).
Engineers are very helpful and cant do enough for custmers (my gran calls as she does not know if there is a problem - they send out and engineer - he sets her timer - has a cup of tea and a chat) - every year haha.
I found the plumbing and drains and electrics cover very useful as they even unblock toilets and sinks and they changed my plug socket as it was faulty.
some other companies who do this type of cover do not cover anything other than emergencies and only do make safe repairs - british gas are excellent and make budgeting easier as no unexpected hugh bills.
my advice is to take out the homecare 400 or homecare 400 flexi as these are the best packages.
