I took out British Homecare for my boiler as it had a mind of it's own. Sometimes the heating wouldn't come on and it drove me mad so i thought i'll get it insured because i wouldn't be able to afford a new boiler. Anyway the service was good overall, they came out and serviced my boiler to start with then i had to call them out because it wasn't working properly. That was fixed and i was happy. I was paying £13 a month then they called me to ask if i wanted to include all my radiators and pipework for an extra £5 so i agreed.
Then i went on moneysavingexpert.com and noticed other insurers were insuring boilers for a cheaper price, so i called british gas and said that i wanted to withdraw my radiators and pipes because it was too expensive then was told they would give me a discount if i still kept the insurance. So now i pay £15.77 that includes my boiler, radiators and pipework. So what i am trying to say is give them a call and say that you want to either go elsewhere for cheaper insurance or you want to reduce your cover and they will give you a discount.

Summary: They are a good company to be insured with and they look after you
