Endsleigh InsuranceNewest Review: ... will still pay out. This was put to the test when I was burgled this year. The process I went through to claim was something like this: *I phoned the police to get my crime number *I then phoned Endsleigh customer services with my policy number and crime number, where I was put through to claims. *They took all the details of what had been stolen, my handbag, keys, money, headphones, and all my cards such as young persons railcard. *They phoned me back to arrange someone to call me about directly replacing the headphones. *I had to email a list of what was stolen, including how much each item was worth. They then phoned back a week later... more |

I have used Endsleigh for about 2 years now. I have a student posessions insurance policy, and also accidental damage. I also have my phone insured with them. All this costs £100 a year. My policy is great as it includes things such as if I am burgled and there is no sign of forced entry, ie someone leaving a door or window open and the burglar getting in that way, they will still pay out. This was put to the test when I was burgled this year. The process I went through to claim was something like this: *I phoned the police to get my crime number *I then phoned Endsleigh customer services with my policy number and crime number, where I was put through to ... Last year I took out car insurance with Endsleigh for the first time; it wasn't the cheapest but I thought it would be OK, and I do work for a university. Last weekend (Saturday night) my car's rear window was broken by vandals. Endsleigh's agents didn't have the right glass, it was about to rain and the car was insecure. So I rang the only other Endsleigh number I had (claims line) to find out what I should do to stop any further loss (and claim). As soon as I mentioned 'glass' they refused to talk to me, telling me it was the glass company's problem (they'd already said they couldn't help). I submitted an emailed complaint, but total silence so far. Oh yes, and it's Wednesday and the car still isn't fixed. I will never use Endsleigh again.

Last year I took out rented contents insurance with Endsleigh, and my quote for £5,000 came to around £125. This year, when it came to time to renew my insurance, I phoned the nearest branch (Lewisham) to discuss the cost, and was quoted £118. I did not renew at that time, but called back a few weeks later (once I'd been paid!) to renew, and was quoted £130. When I asked why it was not only higher than the quote I'd been given two weeks ago, but higher than last year's premium, I was told that my cover had expired 24 hours ago, so I was being treated as a new customer by the system, and there was nothing that I could do about this; furthermore, the price increase was ... There are lots of things to consider when choosing insurance, not least what it costs and what you get for your money. Luckily, I have never had to be the one responsible for home insurance, having been covered by parental or company insurance in most places I have lived. However, since September this year I have been fighting a battle with Endsleigh that has only just come to an end. If all you care about is saving money then this op will not be all that informative - you need to get online and crawl around for quotes to meet your needs, comparing the best different companies can offer you. But, if you are the sort of person who likes to know that, should the need ... Read the complete review

Have been using Endsleigh for many years in various properties in London and Glasgow; no problems but steadily increasing premia. No claims. Went to Endsleigh looking for buildings and contents insurance on a house which I share with a lodger, who is a student. Quoted about £75 and then told me that nobody would insure you if you had a lodger without charging a hefty premium. Direct Line then quoted £32 for the same insurance, lodger and all. We think Endsleigh must have thought I didn't know the lodger from Adam. Direct Line asked if I was content not to be covered in the event that the lodger went mad and trashed the place - not cover I ... Read the complete review
