I had a bump in a car park that wasn't my fault, the person who crashed into me was speeding but decided to make a claim against me for damages and personal injury. I've been explicitly told by Sainsburys insurance (my own insurance) that it's my fault, despite the fact that i have TWO WITNESSES, PHOTOGRAPHS AND CCTV FOOTAGE OF THE INCIDENT! Apparently this does not count as evidence, as told to me by the person dealing with my account. For all Sainsbury's know, the person who crashed into me could have been going 150mph, they refused to look at any evidence whatsoever and was intent on paying damages and personal injury to the person who crashed into me. I've been passed around on calls for days, been told numerous different stories of what is happening on the claim and also been told that the decision is final and I'm losing 3 years no claims due to the incompetence of this insurance company.
I feel completely betrayed by the insurance that I've been paying for years and I don't understand what I have paid for if anyone can make a claim against me and it goes through unquestioned.
I'll never trust the Sainsbury's brand again, not even for milk and tea bags! Save your money and dignity!
9 months later, my insurance policy has expired and I still haven't received the insurance, despite letters from Vodafone, police reports, receipt for new phone, countless emails. I would advise not to go with them.
After I made a claim for accidental damage, afetr loads of arguing with managers a manager by the name of Frances Forte agreed to pay me out, guess what this did not happen. I then took the matter the the CEO Peter Griffiths he couldnt give a toss either, not returning calls when promised and washing his hands of it even though he is the CEO he will sit on his fat arse claiming fat bonuses. See his final response to me
Good evening Darren
I'm sorry we couldn't contact you yesterday. Agnes has been trying to help along your claim by trying to arrange an uplift of your phone by Direct Validation Services, however this is not possible. I understand the Underwriters (UKI Insurance Ltd) have already advised you that, in line with your policy requirements, you will need to provide reasonable evidence of the damage suffered. The easiest option is for you to provide them with a cause of damage report, which you can obtain from a local telephone store and the Underwriters will be happy to reimburse you for any costs this incurs. I appreciate that this may not be completely convenient for you, however I believe it is a reasonable request and is also in line with the policy conditions.
I'm sorry you have found my colleagues rude and abrupt. I know you've agreed that conversations have become heated at times. However I expect our colleagues to remain professional at all times and I have shared your comments with the Underwriters to ensure this is the experience customers can expect as standard when they speak to Sainsbury's Bank .
I realise this will not be the response you had hoped for, but I hope I've clarified the matter for you. I am always happy to try to assist with problems our customers experience , however, there is nothing further I can do to help with your claim. I fully appreciate that you have contacted the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and I acknowledge your right to do so. As the financial regulator holds UK Insurance Ltd responsible for complaints and/or claims on Sainsbury's Bank, I must ask you to continue to direct your claim through the Underwriters, which is the correct route. They will fully comply with any requests and subsequent decisions made by the Ombudsman regarding your complaint. I understand the Underwriters have also written to you and I hope the matter is settled quickly.
Chief Executive Officer, Sainsbury's Bank

I have sainsburys pet insurance for my two cats, and I think it's great.
I switched to them last year, and everything about the whole experience I found a pleasure. I simply called them up, and after a short wait, spoke to a real human and got a quote. It was quite a lot cheaper than the insurance policy that I already had so I decided to cancel it with the other company (I had other issues with them too), and I went with Sainsburys.
The whole process went smoothly, I thought there may have been problems as I phoned and got a quote and a reference number, then had to check that I could cancel my other policies before taking it, and fully expected to have to go through the process again when I called Sainsburys back to actually take the policies, but I simply quoted the reference number and they bought it all up and sorted it out very quickly. I can't remember all the things the policy includes, but I remember it was better than my other policy, so it must be pretty good.
Not only were they competitive with their prices, they also gave me a £20.00 Sainsburys voucher for each policy I took out, and I think you also get nectar points on each payment you make now. So it was really worth switching my policy to them. Th vouchers took a couple of weeks to arrive in the post but they did arrive, which was great.
I haven't had to claim anything on the policies, and I hope that I never have to, but I would always have insurance for any pet, as it's just not worth the risk. Sainsburys were really friendly, helpful and competitive, and the vouchers really were a great bonus. I will be sticking to them in the future, and would really recommend them.
We had Sainsbury's home insurance last year as they were the most competitive for our needs and overall I can say that the service we received was ok.
We had to make a claim a few months ago for a new stair carpet as our dog destroyed it!. I had checked our policy and was pleased to see that we had pet cover for damage so I made the claim.
The adviser on the phone basically told me that we could claim 'on this occasion' but they would not cover us if it happened again. Now this annoyed me because my policy clearly stated we were covered for pet damage, don't get me wrong I didn't exactly want this to happen again but I had bought the policy because this was one of its features.
The adviser also advised me not to claim saying that we would lose our no claims bonus, have to pay the £100 excess and renewal next year would go up etc etc etc, however thats what we have insurance for!!!!
I have had my Buildings and Contents Insurance with Sainsbury's bank for over 2 years now. They always offer me by far the cheapest quote very year, and I should know as I am always looking to save money! This year I have contacted 64 insurance companies and brokers on the internet and by phone and they were all more expensive than Sainsbury's Bank and I have made a claim in the last 12 months as well. My calls are nearly always answered quickly (avoid Monday mornings as it is very busy then) and the staff are very friendly and helpful. When I had a fire in November last year I rang them straight away to let them know. The operator was very concerned and asked if I was o.k. and if I needed to be put up in a hotel at all. I told her that I wasn't sure on what the damage was yet and she said that was fine. She arranged for a company to come and clean up all the mess and they did a briiliant job and it only took them 2 hours (it would have taken me 3 days!) They cleaned all of my carpets including ones upstairs which hadn't been affected. She then arranged for a loss adjuster to come round and talk to me about the claim as I didn't have a clue how much the different things cost. The lady that came was very kind, she told me what I should be claiming for and approximate costs. She included things that I never thought of like the cost of the electrician to get my electric back on. I then received a cheque 5 days later. I was really happy with the service they provided plud if you take out contents and buildings insurance you get 1000 reward point to spend at Sainsbury's
