I'm relatively new to the world of Home Insurance so as any anxious first time would (or should) I made sure to do my homework and ask about to see what experiences people had had dealing with various companies.

To my surprise the majority suggested I should give Tesco a call.
I must admit, it had never crossed my mind that Tesco could compete with the larger superbrands of the Insurance world but going by the recommendations I gave them a go.

I went via their website, which I immediately found to be clear and concise and I felt at ease with what I was doing.

I selected the type of insurance I wanted to get a quote on (in this instance Home inc. contents) and proceeded.
It was a terribly easy process to fill out all the details needed and if at any point I got stuck there were very handy little 'Help' prompts to inform me.

So, form filled out I hit the submit button and waited, briefly.

Up popped my quote and it was, wonderfully, £62 cheaper than any other insurer I had tried.

I very quickly decided to proceed and again, this couldn't have been easier: All the T&Cs were clearly stated, there was the option to save the quote and return at a later time and everything was easy to read and understand at all times.

Once I had requested my insurance, I promptly received an email confirming my choice and within days I had received my policy documents.

This process, to this day, remains unbeaten for simplicity and ease.

So, I had my insurance set up and went about my daily life and then "BOOM" - my laptop exploded on me.
At first, I just set about throwing it out but my ever knowledgeable mother told me that I should claim for it - so I did:

As with the initial setup my policy, my claim couldn't have been more straight forward.

I rung the free phone number for the Claims line and was put through to a very pleasant lady within minutes of dialling (a big surprise in itself!).
She took down all of my details and those of the claim (I felt silly saying my laptop had made a weird 'poofing' sound before billowing with smoke) and informed me that there would be no problem in getting it sorted.

She told me that their electricals contractor would collect the laptop 2 days after the call and that they would handle it within 5 working days.

And true to her word they did - I received a new laptop (as mine was beyond economical repair) within seven working days of submitting my claim and I even got a courtesy call from Tesco to make sure everything had gone smoothly.

Since then, I have also purchased pet insurance from them for my small herd of animals - and again, the quote was the cheapest by far and the customer service was top notch!

Summary: Very highly recommended for a fast and top rated service.
