I had seen these Argos colour match lampshades when I was looking through my Argos catalogue and knew it was just what I had been looking for. I knew it would be perfect for my dining room as the one I had in there was brown and it was a bit too dark for the room.
They do this Argos colour match lampshade in lots of colours including a bright pink, light green, white and a soft silver grey colour which is the one I wanted as my dining room is in shades of grey and silver and I thought it would give a softer look than a bright white one. It measures 18cm tall by 25cm wide so it is quite a generous size and it feels soft and smooth to the touch and the best thing is the price which was £15.00. You can use up to a 12 watt bulb in it which are easy to fit into the shade.
Even though it is called a lampshade it is made to hang from the ceiling and the fittings are in the wrong place to use it with a lamp, but I wanted it to hang from a long cord which is covered with a decorative silver chain and is about three foot long so the shade does shine right down onto the dining table. It gives off a lovely soft light with the silver grey shade which covers the whole table and it really complements the whole room.
This Argos colour match lampshade at £15.00 is superb value and it is stylish and very well made and I am sure it will last for a long time (or at least until I decide to change the colour of the dining room). It looks an expensive and stylish shade and I would certainly buy one again for other rooms in the house and I highly recommend it.
I have just recently decorated my daughters room and I was looking for a few products in a particular colour that would go nicely with her wallpaper and I came across the argos colour match range which I must say is fab. The range consists of many colours and all different kinds of products so you can match up wherever possible on things for every room including kitchen to bedroom.
I chose the funky fuchsia range as the colour looked exactly like what I was looking for. One of the products I chose was the light shade. I cant say how easy this product was to fit as my dad did it for me but I know it literally took seconds so it must have been very straight forward.
The light shade is simply circle and all coloured in fuchsia, it looks basic however once the rooms comes together with all the matching components it looks fab and I took one look and thought this actually looks brilliant.
The funky fuchsia is like a hot pink shade and is idea for childrens bedrooms and for a bargain for of £4.99 you really cant go wrong. One thing I have noticed is that when the light is off the shade is vibrant however when the bulb is turned on it does make the shade appear rather pale in comparison.
Another point is the packaging as it comes basically wrapped in a clear wrapper that was a bit of a nuisance to get undone. That aside I am really happy with my purchase and I would certainly recommend the colour match shade.
I love the argos colour match products, so much that most of my house is filled with them. I bought this lampshade in fusica pink to match my bedclothes and table lamps. They have loads of different items and you can fit out an entire room from top to bottom in the same colour. It really does look smart although the products arent expensive at all.
It is a ceiling hanging lampshade but it could be modified to fit a free standing lamp if you know how to do that sort of thing.
It has a white connecting section in the middle which with a bit of fiddling attaches on top of the lightbulb. Make sure the electrics are off before you attach.
It releases a lot of light at the bottom, and gives the room a nice pink soft glow which is relaxing at night time.
It is about 25cm wide and I think it fits over any standard light fitting. It is quite thin and therefore thats why you get the light coming through the sides. I have had it for around a month and it has held it colour and not faded so far. The inside of it is plastic and hard.
Im hoping it will last a few years as it cost around £15 which isnt a lot for a lampshade. If you are on a budget you can end up with a smart look.
I love colour co ordination and in my home colours have to match as near to 100% as I can get them. I always carry a little paint swatch or a small piece of wall paper in my bag so if I do see anything it will match. Sad I know but my mum is the same so I'm blaming her!
A few months ago we revamped our bedroom and I bought bedside lamps and a blind from Argos from their Colour Match range. This is quite a cheap range of soft furnishings and different items in a range of colours that all match. The colour I opted for is called Funky Fuchsia, a nice bright pink.
As well as the bits I mentioned I also bought a funky fuchsia lamp shade for the ceiling light.
The lampshade being part of the colour match range was a very reasonable price of just £4.99 each, Argos are currently doing 2 for £8.00. The lampshade came with the usual miles and miles of cellophane wrapped around it that most shades are packed in. The shade is round in shape with a diameter of 25cm's and a depth of 18 cm's. As our bedroom is not very big this was an ideal size for us.
The shade is made from a cotton feeling fabric with a white inside. It is just sold as a ceiling light and we had no problems fixing it up. The shade has 3 white arms and the little ring in the middle of them that simply screws onto your exciting light fitting. The shade is suitable for use with low energy saving bulbs up to 11 watts. The shade is deep enough to cover the bulb, I hate t see them sticking out from light fittings.
Once fitted up the shade is plain and simple but looks quite stylish. When the light is on the lamp shade is a slightly paler shade of fuchsia to the other pieces in my bedroom but that's no real problem because most of time we just use the bed side lamps.
The lampshade comes in several colours including chocolate, lagoon (blue), purple fizz, kiwi, cream, natural, black and poppy red so something for most rooms.
I do have one very small little niggle with the colour match lamp shade, it doesn't! When its up on the ceiling it looks a perfect match but when I held it next to my blind and bedside lamp its a very slightly different shade. I was a bit disappointed about this but to be honest its so slight you really don't notice and if I didn't have such an obsession with everything matching I probably wouldn't even have spotted it. Its certainly not worth knocking a Dooyoo star off for.
If you are looking for a lamp shade or soft furnishings for your home and would like them to match without costing a fortune I would certainly recommend giving the Argos Colour Match range a look.
