Asda smart price desk lamp
We were recently in Asda and Little Miss was given the choice of the range of lamps for her newly decorated bedroom. It came as a very pleasant surprise when she chose the cheapest lamp, coming in at the very cheap and unexpected price of £3. I had a look online but it states that the lamp is out of stock so I assume it's available only in Asda stores.
We have the light in white and I believe this is the only colour available, which was lucky for us as she wanted white.
It's a very simple desk lamp with a flexible neck. One thing I like about the lamp is the fact that the legible neck part is quite short, and not too long ( the height of the lamp is about 36 cm)as some of the desk lamps we have had have been. This gives just the right amount of flexibility for the light to be positioned wherever it is needed without there being any problem of the lamp toppling over. Little miss sits it next to her bed and because the base is small and rounded it doesn't take up very much space on the table top. She also sits it on the window sill sometimes, and it fits neatly on this relatively small space. Definitely not a lamp which takes up all of the surface area.
It's the same as other adjustable lights whereby the light can be directed towards a book if reading or if tilted out wards into the main of the room, the whole room can be lit with a rather soothing "quieter" light than when the ceiling lights are all on. The main ting to remember here is that the lamp should not be adjusted when its turned on because it does get hot. Not so hot that burns will be incurred but its not the most pleasant.
To clean the lamp, a soft dry cloth should be used. i have used a damp cloth and this seems to be more effective at removing any small bits of dirt.
The lamp should not be used outside and the maximum wattage of bulb is a 40w small screw in bulb. This does give out enough light for lighting which can be made subtle or more intense depending on what is required.
I have seen lots of lights similar to this and compared to other lights this is great value. It's nothing special to look at but then desk lamps do tend to be practical and functional rather than pretty, and I think because it is a value lamp that's why it's cheaper. It certainly doesn't fall down on the quality side. Sturdy and good quality, the white hasn't chipped off anywhere and it still looks brand new.
It's very easy to use, and the flexible stand is nice and firm once positioned but easy enou to get into the desired position.
Recommended for anyone wanting this style of lamp... Whyay more?
