      Lovely lighting for the bedroom

This is a review of the chandelier style light we have in our bedroom. It's from Dunelm and grandly titled Beaded Droplet Flush Fitting Ceiling Light which we have owned for a couple of years now. Our light is chrome metal and features 60 crystal maze style adornments that sit in concentric circles.

      Bulbs
The light takes three bulbs which you don't really see due to the crystals. The light from the light bulbs reflects through the crystals and looks truly beautiful.

      Bright and dim
We have put a dimmer button in our bedroom so we can create an instant mood lighting and this is handy if you don't want the room in full light if one of us is already asleep etc. It's also a nice light to watch television in if you can be bothered to get out of bed to switch off the light when you're finished with the TV!

      Construction
There is a little bit of work to be done once the light is purchased as all the crystal balls need to be hung from their places with hooks (very discreet) they are left dangling a bit and I have dislodged a few in my more flamboyant moments (ie throwing a jumper on underneath the light) and they are easy to reattach. The parts feel quite robust and have not been easy to break so far.

      Glamour
I think this light looks really glamorous and really makes our bedroom have a boudoir look without it being too girly. I don't think my husband would go for that! There are chrome 'legs' which look a bit like a spiders although there are too many for that and they give the light structure and space out the dangly crystal bits.

      Price paid
The light cost £69.99 which I know is not cheap but it will last us a lifetime and we have already brought it with us from one house move so I know we will never leave it behind as we are too attached to it.

      My thoughts
Lighting is one of the areas I am prepared to spend money on as I think it gives a room an instant makeover if you have clean walls and floors. Cheap lighting is not something I am comfortable with for any length of time and if you are buying something cheap to put you on I'd rather recycle something than buy new and cheap! Just my opinion, I'm sure some will disagree. I do think that this light is very classic looking and will always look lovely and therefore will not go out of fashion ever. It is quite bling without being trashy.

      Final word
I don't really invite many people into my bedroom (!) as it's a personal space for myself and my husband. It is a space I spend a fair bit of time in though as evenings on my little netbook in the winter are better in bed than sat at the desk cold. The people who have seen it like my sister and mum immediately gushed over it and they still mention how nice it is every now and again when we are not even in the room! I have spent a bit of time and money making the bedroom look and feel great and this light gave me the inspiration for a black and white and chrome and crystal themed room.
