      A lovely glitter lamp

This Hello Kitty glitter lamp belonged to my daughter before she decided she was to cool for Hello Kitty anymore. As I am slightly obsessed with Hello Kitty I happily took it off her. Yes I am a fully grown woman but there is something so kitch and fun about Hello Kitty that I am sorry but I can't help but to love it.

I originally bought the lamp from argos and it cost me £19.99. The one I have differs from the picture dooyoo have in that the bottom and top of my one are black instead of white.
It is quite a substantial lamp as it is 46cm high and quite thicker than it looks in the picture. The top and bottom parts are made from plastic and the middle part of the lamp is made of glass. The base has a picture of Hello Kitty on it with a bow above her head and is very cute looking.
The glass part is filled with water and inside this is hundreds of glittery heart shaped confetti.

Assembling all the pieces is easy and just invloves screwing in the bulb then inserting the glass part into the base and then putting on the top part and of course then plugging it in. The lamp is supposed to be at room temperature before turning on and although I'm not sure why this is I always make sure it is as I wouldn't want the lamp to crack or break.

When you switch the lamp on it immediately fills the room with a lovely dusky glow which although not overly bright is lovely and soothing. The water in the glass part does take some time to get warm enough for the glitter magic to work but after about 15 minutes the glitter starts to swirel all around the lamp. his is absolutely gorgeous when it is in full flow and so incredibly hypnoic.
If you leave it on in a darkened room the glitter also makes some lovely shapes and shadows against the wall and I find this helps me to nod off to sleep when I am having trouble.

I have no idea why these sort of lamps have fallen out of fashion as they are stunning when on and although Hello Kitty is not to everyones taste I fail to see how anyone couldn't be enchanted by the swirling glitter floating around.
This lamp would make a lovely gift for a little girls room and I am sure they would be charmed by it. It would also make a great addition to any adults bedroom who hasn't lost their sense of fun and wonder and I highly recommend it.

A lovely addition to any girls bedroom!

Hello. My name is Helen. And I'm a Hello Kitty-holic. It's true. Yes. I'm 22 years of age and have a massive obsession on a little white mouthless cat. There. I said it. But I'm not ashamed. Not one bit! I'm easy to buy for when it comes to gifts, and I think my family and friends are pleased about this! I was given this 'Hello Kitty Glitter Lamp' as a gift from my Auntie (who clearly knows me very well!) and was over the moon when I unwrapped it. I was even more overjoyed when I switched it on for the first time and was promptly mesmorised by the swirling glitter heart confetti inside. Looking for a gift for that special girl in your life that they will treasure forever and use until it can be used no more? Look no further, my friend!

This 'Hello Kitty Glitter Lamp' was purchased for me by my Auntie as a gift, but I do know that she purchased the lamp from Argos. The lamp is listed both in the physical mammoth o a catalogue, and on their online website www.argos.co.uk. I've not seen this lamp for sale in any other physical store, but I'm sure it can possibly be purchased elsewhere online.

The 'Hello Kitty Glitter Lamp' is currently priced at £19.99, which I believe is the price it has always been listed at. This may seem a little costly for a novelty lamp, however I do think it is worth every penny. Yes, I am a little biased asI'm a huge Hello Kitty fan, but the lamp itself when up and running is gorgeous and is a fantastic addition to a bedroom.

To look at, this 'Hello Kitty Glitter Lamp' is somewhat the epitome of 'girly'. The lamp is made up of a slim white base which tapers towards the bottom to ensure the lamp is stable when stood upright. This white base featured a motif of Hello Kitty sitting down, holding onto the string of a red heart balloon within which her name is written in white. Ontop of the base sits the long slender tube of the main glass compartment. This glass tube is filled with a pink tinted liquid and hundreds upon thousands of silver, red and pink glitter confetti mini hearts. The top of the tube is topped with a white plastic cap to complete the look. Even though this is defined as a 'novelty lamp', the lamp itself doesn't look tacky at all, and could easily be placed inside any girls bedroom.

Assembling the 'Hello Kitty Glitter Lamp' really couldn't be easier. Inside the box, the lamp is seperated into three pieces; the base, the glass liquid filled tube and the white cap. Inside the box you will also find two bulbs, one to use and one to act as a spare - which is pretty decent of them to include! Once all the pieces have been removed from the box, you simply screw the bulb into the base before slotting the glittery liquid tube into the base. Then, pop the plastic white cap onto the top of the glass tube and you're ready to rock and roll. Easy! No fiddly bits. No nonsense. Just slot it all together and you're done.

The lamp is easy to work. The 'Hello Kitty Glitter Lamp' comes ready wired up to a mains power cord with a plug on the end. This cord also featured a press switch around halfway up the cord to allow you to switch the lamp on and off with ease, without having to do so at the mains. Simply plug the mains power plug into the wall and switch on. Then flick the press switch on and the light will immediately shine from your lamp. The lamp doesn't give off the brightest of lights, so won't fill your room with light, but it does give off a lovely dusky pink glow that is enough to dimly light a bedroom to aid a child who is afraid of the dark to sleep, or to act as a reading light (or just to set a nice warm mood in the room). The 'Hello Kitty Glitter Lamp' is filled with a pink liquid which takes around 5 - 10 minutes to heat up fully. Once heated, the liquid moved around within the glass tube much like that of a lava lamp, and aids the glitter heart confetti inside the tube on its journey up and down, round and round the lamp in a swirling, mesmorising motion. Watching the glittery hearts inside the lamp itself is enough to soothe anyone. As the lamp is lit upwards from the base via the bulb, the light reflects off the pieces of glitter heart confetti which casts swirling heart shadows on the walls of the room. I've found this very effective in calming and relaxing myself before bed and I've fallen asleep on many occassions watching the shapes on my walls.

This is a great product for anyone who has trouble sleeping, or anyone that is afraid of the dark. Most nightlights simply plug in, and are pretty boring, however this 'Hello Kitty Glitter Lamp' acts as a dusky pink glow within the room, and projects swirling patterns onto the walls which I'm sure will keep childrens attention long enough to aid them to sleep.

As a warning, I would say that it'd be best to keep this out of reach of young children. The main compartment that is filled with the liquid and glitter is made of glass, and if it were to be knocked over, or off a raised surface I imagine it would shatter. Also, once the lamp has been turned on for quite some time, the glass compartment does get a little heated. This is the same as any other lava lamp type product, and little hands could get a nasty shock if the glass compartment were to be grabbed. I do recomment this product for all ages, babies to grannies, however I will say that safety measured should be ensured on those too young to know better.

That said, my opinion of this lamp is one of great positivity! As I stated earlier, the lamp doesn't give off a ridiculously bright light so isn't enough to act as a substitute for a main light in a room. However, the lovely warming light that is given off by the lamp is enough to act as a mood light, or as a nightlight for those that are afraid of the dark. The lamp doesn't take long to heat up at all, and once it is heated, the little glitter hearts inside the main compartment swirl around in a mesmorising way. I do love the fac that the glitter hearts inside the lamp also reflect out onto the walls of the room as shadows, as this is very pretty and relaxing - great for helping you fall to sleep. For Hello Kitty fans, this product is a must - as I'm a complete sucker for Hello Kitty products and will buy into anything! However, you don't need to be a Hello Kitty fan as such to enjoy this lamp. I'm sure this lamp would be a welcome addition to any girly girl's bedroom. Definitely worth every penny, and works a charm.
