Don't break the bank on something big and flashy buy something more discreet .

The youngest member in my family was getting his first room and he is quite fussy about anything but we do have to look out on the cost of things. This seemed just perfect it added a modern touch to his first homework desk and most of all it made him smile and feel happy. Maybe a bit too much at times. It has a sphere shape and has a frosted finish in white. it is very descreet but adds the final detail to any room big or small. In my opinion it is also quite stylish so if you don't want to break the bank but still have style this I would say is a great option for you. So far we have had it for a few months and it still does what it is supposed to do even for that price, a lamp isn't just a lamp when you hae one of these.

The Fado Table Lamp is one of the cheaper options in the Ikea lighting range. It just so happens though, that in my opinion it is also one of the coolest! The unusual spherical shape of the light and frosted white appearance means it looks great on a desk, table, night stand, or even to light a corner on the floor.

The light is about 20cm in diameter, a translucent white colour, and have a white cord protruding from the bottom. The light globe is inserted into the white plastic base of the lamp and the base then clips into the glass sphere of the lamp. There is a small recession in the base for the cord to fit into - it's important to make sure that this fits snugly in otherwise the lamp won't be very stable. There are three small feet underneath the base for the lamp to stand on, and an on/off switch on the cord.

The lamp costs around 8 pounds, which I think is a bargain for something so modern and fun looking. I've been using mine for over 6 months and have had absolutely no problems with it in terms of reliability so it doesnt seem like the quality suffers much with the price! Recommended...
