Advantages: pretty, gives out nice light and simple enough to fit in anywhere
Disadvantages: glass cover can chip if not careful
We have these as our bedside lamps. They give off a really nice glow when on that looks much nicer than having the main bedroom light on and really softens the room. They also have a generous length of cord with the on/off switch wired into it so that it is easy to position it where you need it. Mine fits perfectly in the space between the bed and the bedside cabinet but it could also be saddle-mounted onto the wall.
The lamp sits on a flat surface really well thanks to a small cut out at the base of the glass cover. Simple idea but I think it's a really nicely finished product. Very simple design and will go with anything. Changing the bulb is also easy even with the glass cover on - there is plenty of room to get your hand inside and twist the bulb out. Unfortunatley I have chipped my lamp on the glass at the top in the corner. I think I will probably buy another one to replace it at some stage as I really love these lamps.
Summary: Timeless design that will fit into any room
