I have to say that I found it bizarre to find these on Dooyoo, but on the other hand my house is full of them, so I can write as good a review as any! These shades shot to fame a while back now, and I would guess ours are ten years old easily. In our old house, we paid a fortune for top of the line coffee and cream coloured uplighters, but soon realised it doesn't really matter. When we moved into our rented house a year ago, the whole place was filled with these circular lantern shades, which at first I didn't like, but I have to say they've grown on me since then. Like many things, they come with pluses and minuses. THE PLUSES: 1) The shape and colour ... Read the complete review

Gosh these simple cheap paper light shades take me back a few years. The love nest (we shared the attic room) I shared with my boyfriend in a student house in the early seventies had the identical shade to the one in this picture. The reason why? Yes it was dirt cheap. The modern equivalent is only £2.99 for a 12, a larger 12 inch £3.49inch ball shade the larger 16 inch £3.99 available at http://www.discount-lighting-store.co.uk/ subprod/paper-lamp-shades-0001801.aspx... Similar ones from habitat cost about £4 or £5. Of course you can buy more elaborate paper shades some different shaped ones Argos has a set of three Sphere, cube and ... Read the complete review

'Paper Lightshades in General' may be an odd thing to write a review about, but I have chosen to do so because they are one of my favourite types of decorative shade. When i'm watching TV at home, I prefer to sit under a gentle light rather than a harsh and powerful beam which some people choose for their living space - I guess I just find it more relaxing. Paper lightshades (and i'm talking specifically about the spherical variety) help create an even distribution of light throughout a room whilst taking the harsh glare off an unprotected bulb. You can purchase Spherical Paper Lightshades from many 'home' shops and supermarkets, and they can be incredibly ... Read the complete review

When I was about fifteen years old I was allowed to re-decorate my room. I went for a sort of 'Space' theme; the walls were a dark purple sponged with silver. I was really proud of the outcome although looking back now it was like it was dark and dingy. I bought lots of ornaments and the last thing I wanted to finish it off was a round paper lantern. I suppose I thought it would look like the moon or something. Anyway my dad decided that I was definitely not allowed one because he got it into his head that they were a fire hazard so I had to settle for a boring purple uplighter. When we moved into our rented home about a year a go I what I wanted even if it was a little ... Read the complete review

These paper lantern-style lamp-shades have been a part of my life ever since I was born, and I still love them now! When I was a little girl, my family (mum, dad and me) lived in a small flat. They were saving money to buy a house big enough for the impending arrival of my brother, and although as a kid I never felt the pinch, I understand money was pretty tight. My mum had slipped a disc while pregnant with me, because she had cleverly decided to crack on with decorating despite her bump, which left my dad to finish the job, and this included picking the lightshades. All of the lights in our flat had exactly the same shade - a round ... Read the complete review
