Oak remedy made me feel better able to fight persistant bug and feel better.

Dr Edward Bach invented 38 different homeopathic remedies over 75 years ago using natural extracts from flowers and plants. Each variety of flower remedy is said to have it's own properties, but the Oak remedy in particular is said to be good for people who are struggling and fighting to get well from an illness, and who are annoyed at their sickness but fight against it.

Having previously tried several different kinds of the Bach flower remedies and had positive results, I tried the Oak flower remedy when I was struggling to get over a very persistant flu bug.

I bought a bottle of Oak flower remedy at an online homeopathy shop for £4 for a 20ml bottle, and I can recommend buying them online as they are often easier to find there than on the highstreet. It can be difficult to find the full range of 38 varieties in high street chemists and health food shops.

The Oak variety of flower remedy comes in a small glass bottle with a pipette top, like an eye dropper, which makes dispensing drops quick and simple. The Oak remedy itself is made from Oak infused with natural spring water and a grape brandy alcohol preservative to made sure the remedy has a longer shelf life.

The drops of flower remedy can either be taken directly onto the tongue, which it the easiest but the most unpleasant tasting way to take the remedy - the flower remedy is very alcoholic in it's taste, which I don't like at all. The other recommended method, and the one I use, is to put drops into a glass of water and then sip at it. I much prefer using this method as even though it's not as direct a method, the taste is barely noticable when diluted to such an extreme.

Homeopathic remedies like Dr Bach's Oak flower remedy might not work for everyone, but I found that for me, it helped me feel much better and had positive effects. I noticed a few hours after taking the remedy in water that I felt more positive about getting over my irritating sickness bug. Rather than feel like going back to bed and not getting up for days, I felt more hopeful that I would be better soon, which indeed I was.

I know that quite a lot of people might think homeopathic remedies such as this Oak flower remedy only create a placebo effect. Given it helped my mood improve, made me feel much more positive and was a low enough price though, I found that the Oak remedy worked for me and can recommend it.

An excellent way to treat illnesses

I first discovered the bach remedies about 10 years ago when I was very ill with M.E and desperately searching for answers. I read a book by Bach where he talked about illness within the body being caused by the state of the mind and the fact that illnes can be triggered by emotional imbalance and I was fscinated. My illness had followed a period of great stress and so I decided to try his flower remedies as I knew they were safe and could do me no harm and so were definatley worth a try.

I chose oak as it the remedy for complete exhaustion - obviously a big part of M.E. I tried a combination of other remedies too and I have to admit that they really did help me to feel better. At that time, I didnt care whether this was psycological or not, I just wanted to get better and so eventually I invested in the entire set of remedies and started referring to them on a daily basis to match how I was feeling and I really began to notice a difference in my overall health. To test whether it was just my imagination I started using the remedies on my anxious rescue dog too and amazingly a fe drops of rock rose for acute panic could stop her shaking in moments - I believe that there really is something about these remedies that works just as I think homeopathy does.

There are two ways to take these remedies. If the situation is acute then a few drops in water sipped throughout the day will really help. If it is something you have had a problem with for a long time then making up a treatment bottle is a good idea. At the chemist you can buy 30ml empty drpper bottles for about 50p and you simply half fill this with water, add two drops each of up to seven remedies and then top up with vodka (to keep the water from going stangent and stale) then simply take 4 drops on the tongue or in water 4 times a day until the symptoms clear.

Dr Bach definately knew what he was talking about when he said that our emotions are linked to our health and for me these remedies are a safe and easy way to really make a difference to anyone. Have a look at the Bach website, read through their information about the remedies and use their remedy selector to find the right ones for you and then give them a go - they really can help and as they are safe and natural they are a good alternative to more potentially invasive treatments.

A great product to get calm to descend over your life!

When it comes to alternative therapy's I'm a great fan of them and one of my favourite brands when it comes to these such products is Bach. I've now tried rather alot of Bach remedies over the years and overall I think they are excellent and of great value for money.

Lately I have been feeling rather out of sorts in one way or another. My health has taken a battering and I've felt very low in mood of course due to feeling that way so online I decided to research with Bach remedy may be useful for me to buy and try and I took in an interest in this one and decided I'd hunt it down in Boots and I did and of course I bought it!

I bought it due to feeling stressed out and like I haven't got a lot of strength really. Feeling like I'm struggling with life and getting no where fast the mighty oak tree is strong and sturdy and unbudging and I wanted a little bit of that rubbing off on me. This is meant to help give strength, clarity and fortitude and more of all the will to carry on with life! I paid £5.25 for my bottle of 25ml remedy and had high hopes for it!

      The Packaging:

Brown see-through glass bottle and it has a black screw on/off black and rubber cap and in that there is a long glass tube and to get the liquid into that to use it as a dropper you gently squeeze the rubber and that sucks the remedy into said dropper so that you can use it of course. Around the bottle it has a creamy coloured label and it has dark green writing on it and on the front I'm told it is Bach 'Original Flower Remedies' Oak (Quercus Robur). Other information around the back of the label tells me the ingredients, I'm told how to use it and contact details for Bach Flower Remedies LTD are given. It's a decent, sturdy bottle and it's looks medicinal rather than pretty!

      Directions for Use:

Single Remedy Use: 2 drops in water and sip at intervals or add to 30ml mixing bottle containing still spring water.
Take 4 drops a minimum of 4 times a day.
Multiple Remedy Use: Add 2 drops of each remedy (max 7 remedies) to a mixing bottle and use as above.

      Me Using It:

Well unlike alot of Bach remedies this is one you have to mix with water of course and that's the only way to use it. Some of them you can be used on the tongue but as we now know from the instructions I have just listed that you have to mix it up and that's incredibly simple!

I don't use this with any other Bach remedies but of course if you wanted to I would give it a go but just make sure that you use like for like remedies that all mix together well and do your research first!

I however do use this on days that I feel unwell and that I'm at my wits end and this it is actually a favourite Bach remedy of mine nowadays and I simply drink about 6 glasses a day with a couple of drops of the clear liquid in it. I can't taste anything and to me like drinking plain water as you don't have to use much remedy in it really and of course you can drink it at your leisure! So, it doesn't taste horrible at all!

      Verdict:

Well it suits me being flavourless and so I don't realise I'm taking anything. I find this really does clear a fuddled mind and I feel content after drinking this. I do feel stronger but not in a Wonder Woman way but calm descends over me and I don't get so many negative thoughts. Also although I feel a little rejuvenated in myself it doesn't make me want to run around or go to sleep either!

You can drink as much or as little of this as you wish to and for me it's a nice little addition and works for me superbly each and every time I feel the need to use it. I feel it does make me more rational, less sorry for myself and much more positive and anything that gives anything like that has to be worth a go surely lol!

This can be found in Boots and Superdrug and if you can't find it there look for it online!
