When it comes to natural, herbal treatments I am quite a fan of them. I do not condone anyone simply treating their ailments themselves or going it alone without medical advice first but for me I use these alot in conjunction with what my Doctor or the medical profession give me (always seek advice about this though).
I often find myself ambling around Boots or Holland & Barrett's and am rather a fan of Bach remedies on the whole as I find them usually effective for me and a good price considering the amount of time that a bottle of droppers like this last me for.
This I read about online when I was looking for something to help me get through a traumatic and irritating fall out that I couldn't seem to get away from no matter how hard I tried. I felt hounded and pestered to within an inch of my life which was really not helping with panic attacks I was experiencing and with really bad general health at the time anyway I knew I had to put an end to what was going on around me but whilst I wondered how to I wondered if there was anything that could possibly calm my nerves and help to stop me repetitively going through the same thoughts in my head.
On Bachcentre.com we are told that this 'Is the remedy for unwanted thoughts and mental arguments that intrude into the mind and stop us concentrating' and then 'The remedy helps us think straight. We can deal calmly and rationally with any underlying problems that might be causing the trouble'. Yep that was what I needed! To get the issues out my head for a while and give me my brain and mind some peace so off I trotted with my £6.99 to Holland & Barrett to grab my bottle.
This comes in a dark brown glass bottle and it has a pinch style rubber section to the top of it and attached to that on the inside of the bottle there is a glass section that draws the liquid into it and around the bottle there is a cream coloured label and on the front of that we are clearly told that it is Bach 'Original Flower Remedies', White Chestnut 'Aesculis Hippocastanum' and that it is is 20ml in size, then towards the back of the label other information listed includes the ingredients being given and directions for using it are clearly stated as are contact details for the manufacturer. Simple looking bottle this is and it came in a box that gives all the same information supplied on the bottle and doesn't tell you what this is for which is why you really need to seek advise before buying any Bach remedy.
This is simply a thin gold coloured, transparent liquid which is made from 5 x dilution of flower extracts of White Chestnut in a grape alcohol solution and to use this you simply squirt 2 drops in water and sip it at intervals or you can pop it in a bottle containing spring water and the recommended dose is 4 drops a minimum of 4 times a day or you can make up a maximum of 7 remedies to have in a day if you feel you need it and this is suitable for adults, children, pregnant women and even animals.
Making this up is very simple and straightforward. I simply add a couple of drops into a large glass of water that way I get no taste and no colour to the drink and its just like drinking water, the less water you have and more drops the more golden colour your water gets and it has a slight sort of alcohol tang to it which I'm not keen on so the way I take it is best for me being odourless and tasteless!
Does It Work?:
For me this has been a great little helper. Whether it truly works or its just the placebo effect I get from it I'm not sure cos I sit down and chill out in the quiet with mine and just try to centre my feelings a bit. I do feel less restless, pro-active and that any negative thoughts I have come and go quicker than when I haven't taken these.
In my opinion these helped me cushion the blows mentally I was having to take till the situation could be resolved and I used them very regularly indeed and do think that they helped to give me answers by simply quietening my racing mind down to give me head space to deal with my problems. I no longer am using these ones and they are now safely in my medicine cabinet for if I need them again so yes I do highly recommend these to anyone who needs them cos even though I used them alot I never got addicted or dependent on them and I still have absolutely loads of the stuff left!
Thumbs up Bach!
