One of the most welcome features of the AEG HC3360M for me was its quietness. For a hood equipped with three air moving speeds, even at the fastest setting you detect little more than a whisper. I like quiet in my kitchen, and was not aware of the model's low sound capabilities when I purchased it, so when I started playing around with the settings I was very pleasantly surprised.
In addition to being audibly agreeable it is also a very fine piece visually. The chimney and canopy have a radiant stainless steel finish, and the two halogen lights are bright without being overly invasive. The push button controls are located at the front of the canopy, so there is no unnecessary reaching over the hob. They are clearly set out and not overly sensitive to the touch.
It is possible to choose between recirculation and extraction modes, and as an optional extra you can purchase a charcoal filter for recirculation. Filters are somewhat awkward to clean, being as the mesh very often becomes clogged up with dust and other airborne debris, but if you wash the filters out regularly this difficulty is minimised. I have found it beneficial to use an old toothbrush to swipe out any unruly detritus, and while you may have to be persistent, this is generally the best tool for the job.
Height of the Hood is 800mm, width is 598mm and depth is 470mm. This is a lovely size for the average kitchen, and when the hood is fitted it acts as a central feature within the kitchen and something you may enjoy building your kitchen around. I have mine located centrally between units, and it is a stylish accompaniment to the rest of my kitchen appliances.
This is a gorgeous hood that is fashioned from high quality stainless steel. This is such a material that it is hard working and easy to clean, while also being adaptable to your kitchen design. With a one year warranty on the model you can also feel confident that its excellence will stand the test of time. For £290 I was surprised by its resilience, and while I have seen hoods equipped with more features this model more than suits my needs. Highly recommended.
