koshkha Heritage Inn (Amritsar, India): ... Inn, Amritsar When planning our trip to India in November 2007, there was one attraction that was set in stone - the non-negotiable, come hell or high water , must-see destination for us was the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Ever since I read a review in a guidebook to India saying that Golden Temple made the Taj Mahal look a tad on the tacky side, I was hooked. Regardless of where else we were to go, Amritsa...

Andy+Jones Chaemchanh GuiestHouse
... at ChaemChanh in the mid- 90 s. Nice villa, clean, limited menu. Seemed to be a favourite venue for courting couples looking for a room for an hour. Nice gardens. 20 minutes walk from town centre. Very quiet area, but near to everything worth looking at in Vientiane. When I was there it felt very safe, although I hear that things have disimproved. The owner at the time was a lady called Madame Thip, who spoke very good (perfect ) english. One needed to be careful when driving around as the locals are rather reckless in their driving habits, and sometimes arrange "accidents" with foreigners so that some compensation may be discussed. The police are...

littlemissdaisy Hotel Opera (Gothenburg, Sweden)
... decided to visit Gothenburg as we were getting really great flights with Ryanair. The only problem we had now was finding somewhere to stay...and we had heard that Gothenburg was really expensive. We found the hotel through the Ryanair hotels site but the hotel has its own website with great pictures on it for you to see what its like. The Hotel Opera seemed to be the one in our price range that kept coming up. After checking out some reviews and having a look at the photos - we were convinced and booked it. ~*~*~Location~*~*~ We took the bus from the airport to the centre of Gothenburg and were dropped on Norra Hamngatan, which is the street that the hotel was on. ...

Cat19 Park Hyatt Tokyo
... recent holiday to Japan included six nights in Tokyo, four at the beginning and two at the end. We had saved money by booking flights with air miles and it just seemed that time of year to splurge on five star accommodation. We decided to book different hotels for the nights at the beginning and end of the holiday, partly so we could plan our sight seeing more efficiently but mainly just for the variety. The Park Hyatt hotel is probably most famous for being the hotel of choice in the "Lost in Translation" film. It looked very stylish and fashionable in the film and I must admit that is the main reason I chose it. The hotel is based in the Shinjuku area ...
