mmayer99 Hotels in Cambodia in general: ... of all any range of hotel will be cheaper in Cambodia than most places in the world. There are basic fan rooms availabe in hot sweaty small hotels with the bare minimum of ameneties for $1-$2. For those of us reading this we can mostly afford more so its better to get an aircon room as cambodia is a hot place to stay. I have had a $5 aircon room in Phnom Penh (the capital) for $5, again it was very basic though...

holi_k Roosevelt Hotel New York
... stayed at this hotel in January 2008 with my boyfriend for four nights. We got a good deal through Expedia and booked a superior room as we d heard the cosy rooms were extremely small! Upon arriving and getting out of the taxi I couldn t get over the size of the place, it literally takes up an entire block which I found quite daunting. However when I walked inside I was blown away by the lobby area, it was like stepping back into 1930 s New York (or how I d imagine it to be) The lobby was a vast space full of ornate decoration and a beautiful huge clock hanging from the ceiling which makes an amazing centrepiece and it has been featured in a few films. Within the lobb...

sassypat456 Meeru Island Resort
... at leisure on the paradise island of Meeru, I was speedily shifted out of my romantic dream by a pair of massive eyes staring intently at me under the clear blue water! My brain quickly shifted into gear as this uncomfortable first encounter was followed up by manic flapping and sand being churned up from the seabed. No it wasnt my new hubby lovingly looking into my eyes, but a less attractive sting or manta ray who was not impressed by my unwelcome presence! What can I say, I shrieked loudly and swam for my life! This was just one of the amazing experiences I take with me from my fantastic honeymoon on the Maldivian island of Meeru. What a place! Having spe...

TheWriter Hotel Monte Carlo (Funchal, Madeira)
... have just been to Maderia for a short break and stayed at this totally fantastic hotel for three nights. The distinctive facade makes it easy to spot when you re first looking for it. The interior has been modernised to a good standard and retains an air of the granduer of the original building. We were greeted on arrival by very friendly reception staff who all spoke very good English and were very pleasant and polite during the entire trip. *Pros* It was really good value for money, very clean without feeling clinical, The hotel is central to almost everything we wanted to see and do and the amenities (bathroom particularly) are excellent. It was a very comfortab...
