Advantages: next to amadores beach

Disadvantages: the lifts and food

me and my partner visited the altamar in may as last minute half board deal. Now we are both working class citizens so dont expect the ritz or anything but i do expect to get my monies worth.. and if go half board expect the food to be edible and to have plenty of choice.
We arrived late in the middle of the night with everyone else on our coach and as i wasnt in the mood neither had the energy to fight out way to the check in desk to the one receptionist checking everyone in.
He was a pleasant chap anyways and i instantly asked about late check out as we had a late flight home, he was more than happy to put that through for us for 20 euros. he gave us this map of where our apartment was.. to my horror the only way of getting there was in what i can only describe as cable cars that looked unsafe and im certainly sure wouldnt pass UK health and safety regulations..
As i was too tired to check out the apartment i collapsed in the morning hoping it would all seem better with a little sleep.
I was pleasantly suprised in the morning. The apartment was huge and clean. perfect!
i will give a quick overview of the food as to be honest although we were half board we ate out - due to the fact i wouldntve have fed it my dog. Chips chips and more soggy chips.
The location is set on the hillside so expect alot of walking although you can taxi to the bottom for a reasonable price of 2euros.
Now.. them cable car lifts.. well i did discover there is a pathway of steps that runs along side so best to stick to them you certainly do get fit and buttocks to die for after a week of climbing up and down them - if you require easy access dont go to this hotel..
One positve thing it was in the quieter part of peurto rico right next to amadores beach.. beautiful!
