catsholiday Emperador Hotel (Buenos Aires, Argentina): ... hotel is on the Avenida del Libertador in the Recoleta district of Buenos Aires and is situated within walking distance of most areas in Buenos Aires and is close to the main railway station. The entrance is modern looking with gold revolving doors and there is at least one doorman at all times to welcome you in. The lobby is quite spacious and very well appointed, there are flower arrangements on tables which...

Holidaying Buenos Aires Hostel
... stayed in a hostel in Buenos Aires called Tango Backpackers (a good name, as the Tango is the dance of Argentina!) and I liked the hostel a lot. I booked it online before I went, through a well known website. I stayed in a private room (although there are many different types of rooms to stay in, including dormitories and private rooms that accommodate more people) and I was very happy with the room- it was clean and bigger than the private rooms that I ve stayed in in some other hostels. The location of the hostel was nice. It is in Palermo, which is one of the nicest parts of Buenos Aires. It was close to the subte (the name of the subway in Buenos Aires) station...

PedroLA Etoile Hotel Recoleta

The staff from the booking/reservation has the worst way to communicate with the customers like I have never seen before. I decided to comment to everyone I know about this. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!! Only a few streets from there is the PARERA PARK PLAZA which is GREAT!!!! AND CHEAPER...

... in a hotel in Argentina carries high status, it proves something. For this reason it can be cheaper to rent a house for a month than it would be to live in a hotel for a week. Nevertheless you will be directed to hotels by well meaning people who assume that this is the last word in glamour. We see a similar attitude towards satilite dishes which are viewed as styleish status symbols rather than the naff but usefull things they are here. The most important thing to consider (in the heat) is the air conditioning. Sometimes this can appear to break down but in reality the reception has turned it off. An amusing touch in this Roman Catholic country, if your surn...
