Hotel, Mauritius~~ ~Why this hotel: In 2007 my partner and I were invited to our best friends wedding in Mauritius, it was something we definitely did not want to miss or something we did not date miss because my partner was the best man. We did have the option to pick our own hotel but we decided the best choice would be for us to stay in the same all-inclusive hotel with our friends. Our holiday was for the first 2 weeks in May with Hayes & Jarvis and it cost us £1,800 each for 2 weeks. You may think the cost was a little bit on the expensive side, but I hope my review will help to explain why. I am not reviewing Mauritius itself - just the 4 star hote... Meeru Island Resort ... at leisure on the paradise island of Meeru, I was speedily shifted out of my romantic dream by a pair of massive eyes staring intently at me under the clear blue water! My brain quickly shifted into gear as this uncomfortable first encounter was followed up by manic flapping and sand being churned up from the seabed. No it wasnt my new hubby lovingly looking into my eyes, but a less attractive sting or manta ray who was not impressed by my unwelcome presence! What can I say, I shrieked loudly and swam for my life! This was just one of the amazing experiences I take with me from my fantastic honeymoon on the Maldivian island of Meeru. What a place! Hotel The Garden View YWCA (Hong Kong, China) ... stayed at the garden view hotel whilst in Hong Kong for 3 nights. The hotel is easiest to get to from central station. Take the airport express to central station, then get a taxi to the hotel as its up a really steep hill and its hard with a massive rucksack. The staff at the hotel were great throughout my stay, even questions as, how do I work the shower were answered without laughter. I booked a standard room via hotel world, but through cashback site quidco I got 18 pounds back. Make sure you take a print out of your booking with you as they needed it for me to check in.
