Burj Al Arab ... also served between the hours of 19:00 till 23:30. The breakfast menu is wide and far, it can range from anything anywhere in the world, they have a nice fresh fruit deco in the middle of the lounge, were you can simply select what ever you want. They have a range of continental breakfasts, from the traditional English breakfast to an Asian theme, most of the chefs are from the areas in India, China and Malaysia, and I suppose they incorporate this into their menu. I seem to remember a cup of tea setting me back £5.00, whilst full English set me back £23.00, yes that s right, it was one hell of an expensive breakfast. Banyan Tree Hotel Bangkok ... Banyan Tree in Bangkok ain t cheap, but you get what you pay for. Check out the rooftop Vertigo cocktail bar view from the very top - the view of night-time Bangkok is truly breathtaking, even if you have to dress up a bit to gain access (they don t allow people in shorts and sandals). It s a bit like the JW Marriott inside; you know you re surrounded by luxury, and endorsed by the top people s mag Conde Nast, no less, as one of the world s truly great places to bide awhile. I m lucky enough to be able to visit Bangkok several times a year on business, and I usually make a point of trying different hotels with a view to catching the true flavour of this most exo... Holiday Inn Shanghai (China) ... stayed in the Holiday Inn Downtown Shanghai for eight nights last month. I chose Holiday Inn as it is a chain I am very familiar with and I am always confident in the level of service that I receive. The hotel is located in central Shanghai opposite the Shanghai Railway Station ( no train noise to worry about ) and is split in two halves The Plaza Wing ( which I stayed in ( and the Great Wall wing ). The two halves are linked via the underground carpark and they will take you in a golf buggy between the two receptions though it is only a one minute walk.
