jenniferjain Kings Canyon Resort: ... stayed in Kings Canyon Resort in November 2007 as part of our trip around Australia. Kings Canyon is located several hours drive from Uluru (Ayers Rock) and the Kings Canyon Resort is the only place to stay for many miles. The drive to it is pretty tough because of the heat. ... stayed here in November 2007 as part of our trip around Australia. Having spent a few nights previously in Cairns, we travelled north to Cape Tribulation and the rainforest for a few days, then returned for one night here before travelling on. We found this place to be absolutely wonderful! Part of the reason for this was probably that we had come from a small, solar powered cabin in the damp and muggy rainforest, and this was just the welcome change that we needed. It was our honeymoon, and so we were upgraded to an apartment which was larger than our flat at home. It is commonly called the GCI and despite its rather grand sounding name, it proved to be a friendly and relaxing place. LOCATION This 5* (listed as 4 or 4.5* in some places) is among the best I have stayed in. It is located 30 kilometres from Coolanguta and is a fabulous location not only for surfers, but also for families and couples. The main commercial centre is just half a kilometre away, so that s handy if you are there on business. The beach is only fifty metres away and easily reached on foot and what a beach. ... On The Park, Launceston, Tasmania Sandors on the Park are a 3 ˝ star hotel/motel. It isn t a huge hotel so you get that personal touch. They have 70 rooms a mixture of twin, double and family sized rooms. Inside has a licensed bar and a Monkey Bar café. The café is open for breakfast at 6am and closed at 9pm. Room service is available 7 days a week if you want it. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room so we did not eat breakfast in the hotel. In face we chose not to eat at all in the hotel.
