Last time I was in Las Vegas we stayed at the rather swanky Luxor Resort & Casino and while it was worth the money, for this latest trip we decided to stay more central on the famous Strip. After all, the Luxor is at the south end and there’s a lot of walking involved to get anywhere near the centre. We didn’t intend to spend too much money on accommodation, we weren’t planning on spending much time in the room. All we wanted was central, comfortable and clean. When my Aussie best friend told me she was going to the USA in September, the Mack had a good idea. As she doesn’t have these often, she took the light bulb from over her head and smiled. Ahh yes, she was going to go and meet her bestest - in Vegas! So my other friend and I had to find a hotel conveniently located near Aussie’s. When I was told she was staying at the 5 star Bellagio, the Mack nearly keeled over in shock. Having searched the internet for prices, it was well over £1,000 for a week. Ehm … no! Everybody should visit Las Vegas at least once. My husband wasn't looking forward to going and wouldn't gamble at first. He just watched me win little bits on the slots. When my mum and dad arrived the day after they said you can't come to Vegas and not gamble, so he had a go. He put a few cents into the slots and won about $70. After that he was hooked, we are returning in October because it will be both our 40 Birthdays in 2001.
