Best Western President New York

I've stayed in this hotel twice, eight years apart! It's location is fantastic and it offers great value for money. Situated just up from Times Square, it offers a taste of the hustle and bustle of NY from the off. We are not frequent visitors to NY and this hotel we felt was ideal for anyone visiting on a first time and on a budget. The rooms were an adequate size and very clean, if a little dated decor wise. The lifts are tiny so be aware! The foyer is welcoming and the bar is worth a stop off. We had room only as we wanted to eat in the delis rather than the hotel. When I was booking a holiday for my partner and I to go to New York, I did a lot of research about hotels, locations, sight-seeing spots etc and then tried to find the best one out of a huge list I made. I didn't want to pay a lot for the hotel because I knew we wouldn't be in it much, and when I saw the Best Western name, I thought it would be a good idea to stick with what I know! So I booked 4 nights in this hotel in December 2005, my second trip to the fantastic NYC. This is an hotel with excellant location for theaters and restraurants. You are in easy walking distance of Times square approx 1 min walk from hotel. The room was one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in and for the money We expected a little more comfort but it was in the centre of the big apple so I guess you have to lose somthing. The bath was small, more like a large shower. the storage cupboard was so small that we could not get both my wife and my clothes in it together unless we removed the ironing board and stored that against the wall elsewere.
