Good base for a short brek (Best Western President New York)

Advantages: excelant location, good shopping, nice bar next door

Disadvantages: small room, no view, noisey @ night

This is an hotel with excellant location for theaters and restraurants. You are in easy walking distance of Times square approx 1 min walk from hotel.

The room was one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in and for the money We expected a little more comfort but it was in the centre of the big apple so I guess you have to lose somthing. The bath was small, more like a large shower. the storage cupboard was so small that we could not get both my wife and my clothes in it together unless we removed the ironing board and stored that against the wall elsewere.

There was a very large TV in the room with a good size bed but that was about it. The staff were all multi-national and sometimes struggled to understand english, the restaurant was small and looked expensive but we didn't try it due to the unlimited selection of eating places near the hotel.

One place to relax is the bar next door Hurleys Irish bar a lovely atmosphere and good bar staff, and a very cheap bar menu with large portions of food (recomend cheese burger and fries). There was a 24 hour deli across on 8th Avenue which was very handy as there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room or hotel lobby.

The lifts were somthing of a trial if there were a few people checking out and also a small reception area which also became very congested on times.
