Advantages: Good hotel, good location, lovely rooms, friendly staff.

Disadvantages: No fridge in room and no kettle for tea!

Boston has to be my favourite city in the world (well of those I have visited), it has everything and although I have been 5 times in the last 3 years I am still drawn back!

Of the hotels I have stayed at in Boston I think that the Park Plaza has to be the best, not that the others weren't great, the Plaza has the grandest entrance, looks lovely from the outside and is conveniently located.

We were on the 7th floor and had 2 rooms as we went away with my in-laws. Our room faced out towards the sea. The room had only a queen bed (a little bit small for me & my husband as we are used to sleeping in a US King), however it was beautifully decorated. There are coffee making facilities, however there is no fridge and no kettle for us Brits who like to make a nice cup of tea!

My in-laws were staying down the corridor in a larger room on the corner. The room had two windows, however because of the tall buildings around, the view was probably better from our room.

The bar is good for people watching as it looks out over the lobby area. There is a fitness centre however no pool.

The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating.

Each morning we were able to get breakfast from the starbucks in the lobby, which made for a very relaxing start to the day sat on the sofa in the in-laws room eating our cinnamon buns and drinking 'regular' coffee!

The hotel has several very nice restaurants in the vicinity, including Magianos (Itallian), Finale (which focuses heavily on dessert), Flemmings (great steak place for a special occasion), Rock Bottom (micro-brewery offering great food and beer at a reasonable price) - that is to name a few.

There is a T station (tube) round the corner on the green line, taking you either all the way down to Fenway Park (home of RedSoxs) or up to TD Banknorth Gardens (home of Bruins & Celtics), plus many other places in between or beyond.

Head down to the Prudential Centre for the Cheesecake Factory and a spot of shopping and a Duck Tour. Then walk back up Newbury Street, great for people watching and window shopping in the designer shops. There are some great cafes to keep you refreshed.

I would definitely recommend staying at the Park Plaza in Boston.

Summary: Best hotel I have stayed at in Boston.
