Advantages: Beautiful architecture
Disadvantages: none
My Daughter was married in Caesars Palace, and I found it much more elegant than what I imagined it to be. Some people might think it tacky, not me! It oozes elegance in some parts, and has a sense of fun in other quarters (i.e. the real life Gladiators walking around!)! The casinos there are classy, and the whole decor is so elaborate, that you cannot help but stare at the architeture, and the amount of time that was put into it! Of course since 1962 when it was first started, there have been many additions to this wonderful Hotel, and every part they have added on is even more elegant than the originals!
The shopping forum must be seen (even if you can only afford to window shop!) From Jimmy Choo and Kate Spade to Valentino and Louis Vuitton, you'll stand in awe if nothing else at the elegance of the place!
We had breakfast in Augustus cafe for about $10 and that includes alot of eating, and as much coffee, of course, as you want! So not overly expensive there, as it is a more relaxed, cafe style restaurant near to the entrance and is open 24 hours, so no matter what time you feel peckish, you will always get something fairly cheap and cheerful there!!
On my Daughter's 'Hen Night' we visited Cleopatra's Barge, an ornate replica of the craft that transported the royalty of Egypt on the Nile River This luxurious floating lounge has live music and DJs thumping out chart hits, and features a dance floor that literally rocks!! Not cheap here though! Drinks were about $13 each!
The Seahorse lounge is where the wedding guests all met before the Wedding. The entrance is a huge 1,7-gallon aquarium, surrounded by seating that offers an all round view of Australian Pot Belly Seahorses and is their centerpiece. I cannot comment on prices here, as I wasn't present (in my daughter's room, calming her down at that moment!)
Now, onto my daughter's room! Fabulous views right over the Strip (including The Bellagio fountains).....the room had everything in it including a bar stocked with Champagne, wine, everything that was tempting, but as soon as you even moved anything in the bar, it was charged to your room (through an electronic device) So all we could do was window shop!!!
The King size bed was very plush, as was the bathroom(s) his & hers bathrooms! One had a jacuzzi bath in it and a stand in separate double shower, and the adjoining other, like a dressing room type of bathroom, both having very ornate tiles and marble! Luxurious! Her wedding package had included a 2 night stay in Caesars!
We spent the morning of her Wedding worrying about the rain (that never happens in Las Vegas!) It had never rained for months and of course, the morning of the big day, what did it do? It rained!
My daughter was devasted, as she had arranged her wedding over a year before, to be married in the Venus Garden! By about 1.30pm, her wedding co-ordinator phoned the room to say she had read the forecast, and the rain was on for the whole day. Was I terrified to tell my daughter, who was already in a state? I ran all the way down to the Wedding chapels to see the co-ordinator, and she showed me the Classico Chapel, which she said we could have the wedding in there.
I quickly returned to our room, and informed my daughter about the change of plans, which she was devasted about, but I managed to convince her that the Classico Chapel was much classier than having it outside (and how common is it anyway to have it outside like everyone else!) Not sure she was convinced, but anyway we carried on, and the day went beautifully, photos were perfect (Caesars photographer) and all the plans we had arranged for over a year, had been swiftly changed by the Caesars Wedding co ordinator....... she had thought of everything!
I had my reservations about Caesars for her Wedding, but now.....well, I cannot fault them, and the Wedding service itself was perfect, and not at all tacky like I perhaps thought it might be! (Not one Elvis in sight!)
So if anyone is thinking of Caesars as their wedding venue, go for it....lovely!
I would certainly go back to Caesars, after the perfect service we had!
Summary: Good old Caesars!

- 01/11/06 Thank you ! It was fabulous! The co-ordinator (wedding package) for Caesars was not too helpful at the beginning, but ended up marvellous nearer to the day, and then she dealt with the weather so professionally, calming us down and altering all the arrangements with just 3 hours to go!
The reception was in The Hyatt Lakeside Regency, Las Vegas so we had that to try and organise too,(no co-ordinator there, I 'm afraid) but somehow it all came together on the day! Well, apart from the weather! |
