Advantages: hot, sunny and peaceful

Disadvantages: can be expensive for some things

A few of our friends have stayed here and recommend it to us. If you don't like the modern, flashy hotels then this is the place for you.

The premises are set amongst tropical gardens that lead to the beach. It has blocks of apartments that are only 3/4 stories high with it's own laundary in each one. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. What more can you ask for?

The restaurants serve really nice food all day long, and even A La carte in the evening if you prefer. The staff will bring the food to the poolside or to the beach veranda. The local rum is nice and probably the cheapest thing to drink. If you prefer to cook for yourself the complex has a small shop, or you can visit another which is a stones throw away. If you prefer the big supermarkets that we have at home, then you can hire a taxi, or use a car if you hire one and visit a hypermarket which is about 5/10 mins away.

It's worth hiring a car to go exploring, it's safe and you aren't pestered. There are beautiful places to visit such as the remote 'Flower Forest'. The scenery is lovely and it's really peaceful. There is also a Wildlife park to visit, where the animals wander around you, such as the monkies, giant tortoises, birds and rabbits. The Park includes a rain forest that you can explore.

If you like the sporty life there are loads of fishing trips to go on, or snorkelling, deep sea diving or sailing on a catamaran, horse riding or cycling. The hotel complex has its own activity desk which will arrange any trips or taxis that you need, or ring around for the cheapest prices.

The beach at the hotel is clean and not overcrowded as some of them can be. You will be approached by locals selling things but they are not rude or pushy,so just be polite and say no. There are security guards that patrol the beach and they will get rid of the locals who become a pain!

All in all barbados is worth a visit.
