... stayed at this hotel in September 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The beach here is absolutely perfect, soft white sands, beautiful warm turquoise sea. The staff are very hardworking and friendly and tipping at the bars/waitress service definitely makes a difference. Officially this hotel is rated a 5 star, I would say it is a good 4 star personally, not quite polished enough to be a five star in my opinion. Ro... Catalonia Bavaro ... went to this hotel in december 2007 and i was not disappointed. FOOD: This is the best part of this holiday. The food is amazing there is so much to choose from. The buffet has so much choice but the a la cartes are well worth going to. If you go to the american and the mexican you get served sol and budweiser which is also a bonus and the food here is gorgeous. The french a la carte is also great as you can get lobster however i would have to say my favourite is the japanese as they make it right in front of you and the sushi is to die for. Luperon Beach Resort ... beach is a brilliant hotel. ideal for families FOOD: great choice and the buffet restaurant is lovely. plenty of salads, meats and seafood to choose from. the breakfast also has plenty of variation. BEACH: Gorgeous white sand very clean and the sea is clear. There are lots of watersports to choose from and the watersports boys are lovely. ROOMS: Really clean and spacious with two double beds. There is also a mini bar which is filled up daily. DRINKS: Plenty of coctails with no limits on how many you get. Lovely staff at the bars and quick service. Club Hotel Riu Mambo ... was the first time I had stayed in a Riu hotel and the first time I had visited Dom. Rep. and I was very pleased with our stay. We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks, with my boyfriend and his family, which includes 2 10 year old children. The bedrooms were very well sized and included a fridge which was filled with water free of charge. The bathroom was also a good size and very clean. The maids visited everyday and did a very good job. Unfortunately we were on the ground floor so we didnt have any spectacular views.
