Nice hotel but far overpriced (Crowne Plaza The Pitter Hotel Salzburg)

This hotel is a little bit out of the centre, although Salzburg's so small that it's about a ten minute walk to the middle of things. It does have the advantage of being about 500m from the railway station and on the same road, so very easy to find.

The desk staff are multilingual and very polite and nice, and the hotel itself is also very clean. I've stayed here twice. The first time I turned up in casual clothing because I was simply visiting Salzburg as a tourist, and I was given a room better suited to a child - clean, neat and nice, but a short single bed and the room was barely big enough to turn around. It also had a (locked) door to an adjoining room so clearly I'd been given the unused portion of someone else's suite. The second time, as a business traveller, my room was large and the bed was glorious and appropriately sized.

There's also a spa with a jacuzzi, small basic gym and steam room. That's a nice addition and worth using. There are however hotels in Salzburg that are far better value for money, so if your company's not picking up the bill it might be better to try one of them.
