A great all rounder, and a very safe option in the heart of Khao San Road (D&D Inn)

Disadvantages: The ladies/ladyboys on reception are not the happiest Thais you will meet

This is definately the best place I have stayed in Bangkok and I have stayed in many hotels in and around Khao San Road. This is the best all round for relative comfort, good atmosphere and facilities.

It is a very large hotel slap bang in the middle of Khao San Road. It is marked with a massive big green sign and very easy to find. You have to walk through a little plaza containing tailors and travel agents to get to it.

This was the second hotel I stayed in during my visits to Bangkok and i body clock was till adapting, so I was very appreciative of the double doors that keep every bit of light out during the day. This is also good if you like to party.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable and had a kind of your on a package holiday spartan like feel to them. They had a good shower, comfy beds, and a TV with a good range of western tv channels.

The facilities were great, the rooftop bar and pool were brilliant. The pool was like an oasis in the middle of a concrete jungle, it was great for bathing, swimming, reading relaxing and drinking. The bar has great views over Khao San road and you can see the palace too. There are ladies giving Thai massages and there is a good internet cafe on this level.

The Garden cafe area on the ground floor is where the buffet breakfast is served. This is very nice too, and for many westerners a serious realisation of how much rice they will be eating in Thailand. They also show movies here in the evening which is nice if you can't be bothered going out.

Summary: I would reccomend this place and probably will return
