We were in the room right on the end on the ground floor as well, and every strange noise from the air conditioning unit in the middle of the night made me jump. My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night during our recent trip to Florida. It was just intended to be a stopover place so that we were close to the location of the manatee tours in Crystal River and wouldn't have to get up any earlier than necessary (the manatee tours leave about 7:00 am!) - The hotel itself - The hotel was 'motel-style', meaning that the room doors were exterior to the building and faced outwards to the car park or pool.
